I know that you put some of your old works into storage because you got tired of looking at them, but couldn’t you just put them into a new collection called ‘Old Works’ and move the pictures somewhere else in the main gallery?

Now, I probably didn’t look at many of them, but I think I may have liked some of them.

It's more than that.

Getting tired of them was part of it, but they're dated, awkward or remade already. What's worse, my new stuff is ignored, and the old gets all the attention.

I made many of those in my teens out of boredom, now I'm trying to make a real career out of this now, and those don't look so decent to gallerists/critics. Also It's kind of embarrassing when a professor asks for your work, and that's all you can present outside of undergrad work.

I also want to move forward with the characters now and storylines, and not be bottled up into to tf work. The past can cast long shadows, and some I don't need hanging over me.

I think I understand what you mean.

The fans that like the old themes are not interested in the new themes and the people that might like the new themes can’t get past the old themes. What you did was probably the best course of action.

But there is still a small chance that they may be taken out of storage later, right?
