*twitch* You can rhyme. You are one of the very few people I've seen who can pull it off! If I had the free time, I'd read more of your stuff, but . . . I'll be back. Really.
I couldn't help but notice your comment on poetry that doesn't rhyme -- how you don't see the point. I'd loove to have a few conversations with you on that subject.
Either way, I'm not complaining. If you have the ability to pull off rhyming, be my guest. And you do.
So. I'll be back, in the form of a slightly irritating comment fairy.

Irritating? Contrariwise, it's nice to be appreciated. I'm glad you like my poetry, and I'd be happy to talk with you. Perhaps drop me a note sometime, about what deviant chat I could find you in and when?

I don't do much chatting . . . none at all, in fact. I just comment, etc. Yesh. or notes . . . etc.

Oh, and hallo, Arc. ^.^ And, quite welcome, Raiyne. I find your work useful to study. Good, clean lines, and accessible talent, I think it'll help me improve. And of course, your Zelda fandom certainly helps. *grin*

Hi, upon request from your good and wonderful buddy =Cosira , I've rambled through your gallery. Presently, I don't have time to go through your prose pieces, but I look forward to doing that in the near-future. Two notes as to your work in general:
1) "Hold it Together" seems rather odd off that back for simply not having any quotation marks. I don't know if you did this for artistic purposes, or not, but it's something to point out as mildly awkward for the reader. -I WILL be finishing the rest of the story later, so FEAR the rest of my wrath... which usually is accompanied by a glass of milk, a smile, and a cookie
2) I don't understand the necessity of rhyme in your poetry. Perhaps I'm wrong, but it often feels forced rather than part of the natural flow of the poem. If this is the case, I'd love for you to tell me that's so and... we can talk about that.
Overall, there's potential here, no doubt- And I can't wait to see it more

FathomTwain In reply to SeeNuanRun [2005-10-29 04:28:54 +0000 UTC]
1) That's intentional. It's the only story I've written with speech, and no quotation marks. Something of an experiment, really. I like the effect, but I'm not about to make it my overall style. Don't expect much of this sort in the future. But do come back and let me know what you think of the rest of it, regardless. ^.~
2) I don't understand the point to poetry without a rhyme scheme. That's what prose is for. The whole beauty of poetry, to me, is that each measured interval during the course of what I'm trying to say, it must rhyme, and the necessary rhyme can sometimes pull my message in directions I hadn't expected it to take. This tendency for my verse to take on a life of its own is a virtue of verse that I would not readily sacrifice to the convenience of being able to simply state what I had planned to. It can be frustrating, at times; when one learns to dance with a partner, one may at times stumble or tread upon the partner's foot, but this is not sufficient reason to prefer to dance alone. Thus it is with me and my rhymes. I just need more practice at knowing when to take the lead, and when to let my verse lead me.

Yeah, I've known about Deviant Art for a lot longer than I've actually been using it. I dunno, I've always been a creative type, but I sorta didn't really see myself as an artist, yano? But, what the hey, there are poets around here, too.
If you're glad I'm on DevArt, now, you have Cosira to thank for it. She talked me into getting it. Contrariwise, if you're ticked off that I'm on DevArt now, you have Cosira to blame for it. Of course, you'd also have to blame me for actually doing it, but you would've done that anyway. Heh.
Anyway, yah, good t'see ya, Lit.

I've been a Zelda fan all my life, ever since it was my favorite game for the NES, back before Super Mario Bros 3 even hit the shelves. I literally grew up along with Zelda. She's my idol.
