I bet I would bleed if you punched me, I'm pretty sensitive (sorry if that;s not the right word, I'm quite intoxicated currently so am indeed struggling for the correct words)/

I don't have all that much time, I just work really really quickly so I can spit out a few paintings a day if I like.

Hello I hope you'll forgive me in replying to your comment here as my thread was closed. I only wanted to respond to you because you seemed most cognate.

Art is dead because it is more tied to the academy than it ever has been, which breakage from hitherto has been the sole goal of the practice.
Our individuality has been a con by the academic and economic elite;
Where every purpose of an art school's education is to fit you in a market trend, even if your work is of the "highest" brow. Or if you're a "graphic designer" where you ultimately create only to please a commercial interest.

And the seeming freedom from the infinite expanse of contemporary art is really the most brilliant ploy in which our merit and historical importance is in the hand of the capitol investment branch.

I could expand further but its a working theory. I hope some piece of it has resounded with you.

I don't mind you commenting on here, I'm quite glad actually because you could've quite easily just ignored what I said.
Well I do indeed agree with quite a large portion of what you said.
It's true that a lot of artists have conformed to earn money rather than to just do art for pleasure.
There are a lot of comprimises to be made in order to take up a career in the art industry.
I'm proud to say that I have not become as you say "tied to the academy".
I do art for myself, and if someone likes it then that's great but I'm not doing the art to make other people happy.
It is sad that most art schools try to mold people so that they do the same art as everyone else.
Fortunately for me, the teachers I have never try and alter what I do, they just let me be.
Art careers are strange things, I suppose it goes with any other career too; that sometimes you have to conform in order to get anywhere.
There are some qho are lucky enough to be able to make a living purely by just doing what they love without making any changes to the way they function or work.
So I guess I'm lucky, a majority of the teachers I've come across have let me do my own thing, and I've only once found a teacher who wanted everyone doing the same old thing (just drawing a plant as acurately as you can).

Well again, I'm really glad you relied(I've never heard anyone suggest that art is "dead" before") and I liked hearing what you had to say. It has indeed resounded me.

it's really cool to touch in real life because I used impasto and gel medium.
