Hiya! ^^ Nice to meet you Warori! It's fine. I'm glad that you decide to start doing art. Everyone has to start somewhere. It's just that some people started off young so they have a head start. ^^ I knew a few illustrators who never have a background in art earlier in their life, but they manage to find their own style and niche, and they are doing quite well. Practice and dedication is the key.

That's great! ^^ So which style you are aiming for? Illustration or 3D class? :3

Hi! Nice to meet you too, Rachta ^^ Don't worry, I am dedicated to practice, so I think I have the two main concepts to learn :3 I am quite excited, I got every single book I could find on art techniques and such at the library :3

I am hoping to do mainly Illustration and graphic design ^^ (Mostly logos, icons, and web design.)

But I'd mostly like to do Illustration, however none of the Universities here have it as a major or anything, just Graphic Design. :3

Great to hear that! :3 lol I feel the same too when I have a new project to learn. ^.^ It's good you're enthusiastic about it. :3

I studied logo design, corporate design, web design and such too in uni. It's pretty cool and the idea behind it is that you need to communicate your message effectively with art and design. My personal favorite is this book : [link] (Layout Workbook). It's about designing based on grids and spaces, but it also covers the fundamental thinking process of graphic design as well.

That's a shame they don't have that. I've heard of a few uni that provides a major in illustration, although not within my proximity. XD Anyway Graphic Design is quite different from illustration in my opinion, although there's most likely an illustration class included in the course. It would be best if you can find a uni with direct major in illustration, if illustration is what you really wanna do. But if you're looking more into flexibility, graphic design course would be good. ^.^ It teaches you a lot of many things (at least in my uni XD).

Yea something along that line XD. I'm currently working as a graphic designer, doing mostly interactive media design such as website, flash interactive, user interface design and stuff! I would I could draw more in my job though. XD

Hey I heard a lot of good things about A Song of Fire and Ice! Got the first volume and read a few pages. It seems real interesting and was a fun read! :3

I can't seem to finish the Lord of The Rings. lol. Every time I would read through book 1 to somewhere in book 2, then I would leave the book there for a long while until I forgot what had happened in the books. Then I had to re-read the whole thing again. This had happened to me for 3 times already. It's a vicious cycle lol. I watch the movies though. My favorite <3

Never really read or watch Star Trek before though. Can you tell me why do you like the series?

ASoIaF is the best book series ever! I think the only one that caught me for 6 years

LotR is difficult book, you can love it or be bored by it

Oh, Star Trek is my whole childhood ^^ I grown up watching it. I love characters, mood, adventures, everything. Plus I love sci-fi in general.

I make them for my graphic sites and for people who order them from me For free of course ^^ I am on message boards where people ask me for banners and avatars.

yea! so that's why I need to get myself the first volume to see what it's all about. XD The first few pages are very promising. I think I will find some time this week to continue on the rest. :3

Ah I see. I've only watched a few episodes of their TV show last time, so I cannot really say much about it. Looks quite fun though. Do you have a favorite character in Star Trek?

My fave characters of Star Trek are usually doctors, like Bones, Bashir or Phlox. I have something for medical officers <3
