Same old, I suppose. Been obsessed with playing Sims 3. Which has been giving me a BITCH of a time to actually get to RUN anymore. I can't even tell you all the shit I had to download and tweak just to get the game to be playable. Fucking EA game. I love it, but it's so frustrating. And all of my problems are because I'm playing it on a Mac. EA, being the wonderful company it is, took a shortcut when putting the game on the Mac, and now everyone that plays it on a Mac is paying for the consequences. The list of glitches and fuckups for the Mac goes from here to the moon and back, I swear. And I've experienced pretty much all of them.

I do have it running now, fairly decently too. But I have it modded out the ass with mods that prevent glitches in the game. I have a program that cleans the memory on my computer to free up RAM (which is NOT necessary because I have 16GB of RAM, which is more than enough, but because EA took their shortcut, the game is limited to 2GB of RAM on a Mac, so I have to dump the memory every so often to keep that 2GB cleared up). I have a mod that reminds me to save, so I don't lose a ton of progress if it does decide to crash. I have to delete all the cache files plus a couple other files before I start the game each time to keep it running cleaner. And the list of things I had to do to even get the game to that point is ridiculous. Just to tell you how bad it is, there are news articles online about how EA fucked over Mac users. And one forum thread, that just asks about one problem in particular that is over 20-some pages long. I read all of them. Not one single solid solution in any of those posts over any of those 20-some pages. Just work arounds that eventually ended up failing again. Because it's a memory issue that's causing the main problem. So once it fills up, you're fucked.

*Sigh* I guess I had a lot more to say than I thought. *snortlaugh* It's just UGH. It's so frustrating when you want to play something so bad, but all it does is give you problems. EA tends to make games that are really fun, that tons of people really want to play, but the games are so full of flaws it's ridiculous.

Blah. I'll shut up. Anyway, hope you can get around to writing again.

No, I completely understand. Some of my bigfish games won't work if I am over a certain point of memory storage. Really annoying

And I get the gist, because I'm not computer savvy You and your Sims, doing everything possible to fix what EA left in a mess.

Yeah, I'm having fun. After I completely rebuilt Kyle's house for the 3rd time...it took over a week because of fighting with the game/crashes/trying to find solutions/etc...I was finally able to play with the sims themselves. I made a new Endri and was able to give him traits that are more to his personality (because I bought a bunch of expansion and stuff packs when everything was 50% off), so there were a lot more options to choose from. I got him a job as a magician XD and I've also been having him travel to China, Egypt, and France, going into dungeons, digging up relics, etc. Just like as if he was looking for the keys! Now today, I just started with Kyle. I'm going to make him an inventor and also maybe get him to dabble in alchemy. XD But for now, he's got a part-time job at the bookstore. Haha! He has like $200 in his account. Anyway, eventually I'll have Kyle buy and move into his house that I built (because it's more of a challenge that way...I mean, it costs like almost $400,000! So it's a nice goal for him.), then I'll get Endri to visit and eventually move in with him. Then I can make them both travel around the world like they're looking for keys. I swear, this is the most accurate I can get to my characters with the Sims, and it's awesome! It's one thing to write about them and draw them, it's another to have them running around on my screen and interacting with each other.

Hope you get your writing done the way you want! I mean, you ARE taking creative writing class.

That just sounds so epic, to see all that happening, almost like having a little series about your works, via Sims

Kyle's house, giving them their personalities, having them search for keys, just sounds fantastic!

You sound like your having loads of fun too, and I don't blame you. Sounds like a blast

Still dealing with writer's block (as usual x_X ) hoping for inspiration soon, until then, might just mess around with the Beetlejuice fanfic

I recored Kyle inventing a widget, participating in a hot dog eating contest (and winning, funnily enough, compared to the fat guy he was up against), and roller skating...while being chased by a zombie...and lapping the zombie. So I'm still building them up to the point when they meet each other.

And I know what you mean, totally. Which is why I have officially quit. Writing, art, even reading other peoples' stuff. I've realized that I burned myself out a long time ago, so I'm not going to push myself anymore, or it'll only get worse. I'm going to let the love and passion for the BJ fandom come back naturally, like I used to do, and enjoy the other things that I find interest in more, now that I don't feel like I'm held back by anything. So yeah...I'm done.

Yes, unfortunately my site is down again. I use free web hosting, so about once a year, the web host disappears, and my fan site is deleted. To stop that from happening, I have to pay for web hosting. But I just think it's a waste of money just to have my fan site online. So I don't know when I'll have it back up.
