It's not dedication ;__; I have no ties to the outside world without a car and I need to escape the monotony without getting sun-fried.

crud i didnt realize... i'm so sorry D:
is the number 3 anubis white or platinum(pale red) or silver? (on black of course, jw what his anubis markings are) If platinum i'll take him, if not i'd go for a custom chorded

cnicht In reply to Hlghyena [2013-04-30 03:57:31 +0000 UTC]
hmmm wouldnt his markings then be possible without the anubis gene, and with ssi, or minimal white spotting? so would he be considered a solid black, with white spotting?
I guess really, does the anubis pattern count as a type of point marking(sort of similar to a case of two tone), if so, then it wouldnt nessecerily come in white. Platinum(the palest version of normal non-mafia red, ip) would appear white, without actually being white. otherwise this particular anubis capo would seem to be a black x albino two tone(anubian two tone, anyway). does that make sense? (im mostly asking just because of mine and paintedcricket's gene project for the capos).
I would suggest marking him down as a platinum/black, just for him to make genetical sense, otherwise we are dealing with a whole big slew of extra locii we will have to add to account for the multiple colors plus white that anubis would be... also a lot of people trying to make pseudo-anubis dogs out of white spotting.
A quick question in regards to my capo genetics study....
I am wondering if we should move anubis from the Cp(capo points) locus into the two tone locus, as a two tone pattern variant o.O if it always occurs in two separate shades (for example black base x red anubis markings) then either it is a variant of two tone, or most of the anubian capos you have released also carry two tone (meaning a non-two tone anubian capo would be say, black with paler black anubis points, the same way normal capos are black with paler black points. if we left anubis in the points locus this would be the case, and we would also conceed that most of these imports are two-toned)
does that make sense?
simplifying, i am asking... is the anubis pattern a variant of the classic capo two-tone, or is it a point pattern variant(which is where we have it currently) that has been released primarily on dogs with an active two-tone?

Hlghyena In reply to cnicht [2013-04-30 05:31:52 +0000 UTC]
Oh yes, I see what you mean. Platinum would work then.
And yes, the Anubis pattern is a variant of the two-toned. It cannot be of the same color as the base.

Hey you! I feel like... I remember you looking for a Red Piebald? For a litter or something? I thought that's what I remembered reading, but I can't find the journal.
Anyway, I recently got a Solid Red with piebald, he's a silky. [link]
And he's not related to Tint.

cnicht In reply to Gaybies [2013-04-09 22:09:17 +0000 UTC]
its just like any other contest. just make up some rules (age limits for dogs, limits of how many dogs can a single person enter, if you are going to allow created breeds, no tracing/stealing/reusing(images must be new and created for the contest).... ect. Then decide your events. Are you just doing conformation? Or are you doing sporting events (like agility, lure coursing, hunting, herding, bikejorring--any of the TKC sporting events. the only ones that wouldnt qualify are the certification events[canine good citizen, service dog, search and rescue].
Decide if you want to do an RNG(random number generator) show, or an effort-based show. (with RNG, there is little effort put into the art entries and you dont judge them, you just use a number generator and whoever's assigned number gets rolled, thats who 'wins'. theyre like speed contests. Effort based shows are like regular contests, you describe a scene for each event to take place in and eveyone puts lots of effort into their picture. For my contest, i had a theme (they love themes) for people to follow, and the people who followed the theme the best won. Almost every show ive entered in darpg has had a special theme. (i entered an assassin's creed themed one, lmao, come on!)
You can decide what to give as prizes. most people just do ribbons, only a tiny handfull have given away art prizes. For the conformation event, usually the TKC xp they get from the titles they'd win (like best in show, best in group, ect) is incentive enough and they dont care if they get an art prize. For sporting events, like agility/bikejoring/whatever, you can offer the prize of "rankup in sport title", as in if they are currently have the SCHI rank in schutzhund, if they win your schutzhund event they get to advance their title to SCHII. does that make sense?
Did that help out? sorry for the text wall.

Do you mind if I follow your layout for your show? xD The events will be different, I just mean how you positioned your information and such.

Alrighty. xD What do they win in things like Bikejoring? Ribbons?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
cnicht In reply to Gaybies [2013-04-10 04:14:40 +0000 UTC]
just ribbons. you can also say they get a rankup in their title for the sport. say, if they already have a novice title in the sport, if they win 1st-3rd place, they get to upgrade their rank to intermediate (i dont know the actual titles earned from bikejoring off the top of my head, so i just used novice/intermediate as examples lol). Earning a rank upgrade via a contest doesnt give the +5 points that earning a title through TKC's regular 'draw a pic per title' thing. so they'd only get the initial +7 points for the event/show image they drew, at least, thats what ive gotten out of it.

cnicht In reply to Gaybies [2013-04-08 00:01:42 +0000 UTC]
Nope. Not novice. Novice us at 45 points. So they're really close!

cnicht In reply to Gaybies [2013-04-07 23:57:28 +0000 UTC]
Their dam is platinum,so they get 30 points from her. Dad is a novice, so 6 points from him. Their litter pic gives them 4 points, so 40 points total. Which would make them novice pups,I believe.

Gaybies In reply to cnicht [2013-04-08 00:15:29 +0000 UTC]
Do they get points for how many dogs they've got in their linage? Or was that a different point system...
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
cnicht In reply to Gaybies [2013-04-08 00:34:39 +0000 UTC]
Yes! They do get points for that! So they probably ARE novice pups. Tint has 12 dogs in her lineage, plus her makes 13 from the dams side. Cyan is a second Gen I believe.
