Oh, and if you're into Kiki Smith, you should check out Liz Magor's pieces at Susan Hobbs.
Do you have facebook?

Wow, look, I found you in the future!
And you still haven't built your website. You're loosing potential publicity you know. I have these ideas about what your work might be like, I bet it's really sculptural and sensitive to materials. And I also think that you don't tend to implicate yourself in your work because you're a bit of a hermit.
So my work's taken some different directions in the past year or two, I've gotten into activism, mostly concerning colonialism. I'm still trying to finish up with the coelacanth thing.
How's life?

Hey, thanks for that Brad Brown link.
That link I posted here a while ago was a lot more interesting before the countdown finished and it turned out to be a ski resort website.

Hi Jason. We had an entire Sugimoto show here at the Hirshhorn a while back, you would have liked it, although you may have seen better. Where are you nowadays? I don't "DA" but I still check up on you and a few others. Email me if you get the chance:

I was in the desert next to the India-Pakistan border last week.
Among people who have seen cars and know of telephone poles but live in a world that hasn't changed much the past two hundred years. Some haven't heard of cities. They still grow what they eat and work to survive in a harsh and unforgiving climate.
The night sky was incredible, no light pollution, no pollution at all actually. I'm going back in February, to stay there for a two months; I might go in deeper and explore the mountains. I hear there are ancient Hindu temples.
Iβm learning, discovering and engaging. Iβve been so busy absorbing, havenβt had the time to examine and study through drawing. There is a lot of dismantling and reconstruction to be done next year.
I hope you are well.

thanks for the feedback, jason. i am in the process of building an extension for a tripod/dolly that can hold three cameras to film simultaneously. i am going to reshoot i walk alone with this set up from the perspective of the one walking alone, and then present it in a gallery space with three projectors covering three walls. i may also shoot some clouds for the ceiling - to create an immersive situation. the viewer walks into the room and is surrounded with the scene, and many more bodies this time.
should be fun.
how is your art going? are we ever going to get to see some sneak up on a web site somewheres?

I actually like some of Damien Hirst's work, not a lot, but some. I read somewhere that he's finally sober, which I guess can only be good for his art.

I certainly wouldn't call it a golden moment - how about we consider it a bronze? The show of works compiling all my recent paintings over the last 8 months still wasn't representative of my painting. I was happy with it, but not thrilled, and only until then will it become golden. I have an idea that some of my next works will be. But that's what I said for Missing Persons. Next four works going over to London UK for a group. Toronto Outdoor when away with no real bang, but it's an arts location you should think about exhibiting around this time next year. I took this year off because of the one-man show, but will be hitting the 2007.

It often seems as though the life of the artist is an endless struggle for satisfaction, a golden moment when it all comes together perfectly and the work is perfectly realized.
