Your words are true, John Lucas! Thanks for the encouragement, I'll be sure to keep up with him. 
I just tend to be overly cautious, because even when things seem to be going really well, I get a lot of "you're too cartoony for this, but not enough for that." Know what I mean?

I've been hearing the same thing for over twenty years. Eventually everything comes back around. Thankfully, there's a book like deadpool for guys like us that are somewhere I between.


Don't worry about following up with people. It's part of their job. They expect it. Just be polite and never a pest. And while you're waiting, work on your own stuff. If you can build a following editors will come to you.
