Oh Emily you've inspired me!
I'm actually planning on being an exchange student hopefully soon!

Miss you here in California!

Haha do it!!! and you know you totally wanna come to Poland... (I probably don't have to tell you that)
Do you have any idea of which program you want to go through?
Haha, yes, most of my life so far is pretty hilarious... but it's an awesome kind of hilarity.
In Germany, on Carl Marx Avenue, there was a building that said "MORGANPOST" on it... lol. I took a picture of it for you.
Miss you and your awesomeness!!!

Actually, I was hoping a great deal for Ireland.
I found a program called CCI [Center for Cultural Interchange] that I can choose where I want to go and stuff.
I was talking to my mom about it and she says she likes the Rotary Exchange better [only really because I can get a scholarship for it cause it's $15,390 for one academic year through CCI - Yikes!]
But then I wouldn't be able to pick!
Either way it won't be until my Senior year , but that's better than none at all I guess. [Plus I seriously need the time for mucho fundraising!]
But if all goes well, it'll probably be Ireland [since my ethnicity is pretty much half and half :/ ]
[god, there are SO many side notes to this! and why is it So long?!?]
sorry, I'm just really excited!
That's so cool! You'll have to send it to me. [the picture that is. I'm sure the building it WAY to big]

Why wouldn't you be able until your senior year??? who wants to go on exchange when they're the big dogs of the school???
Well, with AFS[American Field Service], it's cheaper than CCI, but more than Rotary, that lets you pick too, and I think you can pick with YFU[Youth For Understanding], as well... And with Rotary, Ireland isn't on the list... but if you're Polish, there's a very good chance you'll get Poland. At least with Alaskan Rotary... I dunno about CaliRotary...
Lol no matters, no matters... excitement is fun.
Lol yeah. I added you to MSN, btw...

Because I have not the moneh.
That actually helps HEAPS cause I'm figuring that even if I start working January [it's SUPER hard to get a job here when you're any younger] I probably won't have enough, so more options is AWESEOME!
Yeah, they don't let you pick here. They figure that since you can get a scholarship for it, you shouldn't have the choice.= LAME
It sounds like you're having mucho fun!
ha, okay.

yeah. I understand that... my PFD/College fund paid for my exchange.
AFS, for Morgen to go to Turkey, was I think $8000, and I don't know how much YFU is... but I'm sure you could find out easily online somewhere.
You can get a scholarship for it? That I didn't know.... haha.

XpoeticXsanityX In reply to Anonymonkey [2008-12-01 06:05:17 +0000 UTC]
yeahh, and I don't even get a PFD anymore
Soooooo, I'll be working for a year and hoping and praying I'll have the monehs.
Nice, but I looked at both AFS and YFU and the closest they have to Ireland is Wales, which is very northnern UK part of Ireland, which is also not where I want to go.
ha yeah, you can if you don't have the money for it and you're a damn good essay writer
It's all depending on the money though. I don't have it, I don't go. T-T

Or... you don't pick where you go... it can still land you in an awesome exchange place. Like Poland!!!!

true that.
actually I just learned via my couselor that there has never been a student from the Anderson Union High School district that has ever even shown an interest in Foreign Exchange. Therefore he has no idea whether my school will accept credits or whether I can take extra classes next year in preparation so that i can graduate on time. Ugh, it's all ridiculous.
This is starting to make me lose el sleep-a.
But whateverrrrr. I'm pretty much determined to go though, so it'll all work out! : D

Fuck your school, dude. Go to the nearest homeschool program and talk to them, they are almost BOUND to know more, just because. That's how it is for me, if Skyview won't give me credits, Connections will, no questions asked. Schools fail at life, miserably.
Yes, stay determined!!!! Best thing you can do.

Well I talked to my counselor and he said that as long as they're "accredited" then they'll accept the credits as far as he knows, but since I probably won't be taking the same history classes there, I'm going to do my senior Government/Economy classes in my junior year. I shall be swamped. but I guess it'll be exciting!
