Do you do requests? I'd love to see your take on the Illyrian Provinces (a historically accurate and an alternate history, i. e. Greater Illyrian Provinces map).

I moved your images of the alternate history depictions of a region of Alemannia to the alternate history folder on Storia-Italiana. We have a policy of seeking to avoid confusion of alternate history with actual history to our viewers by having all alternate history imagery go into the alternate history folder. There is a note about that in the gallery section, it isn't easy to notice, sorry about that.

Oh I submitted them to the maps folder (or did I submit it to the main folder, I can't quite remember) because the alternate history folder was blocked for some reason, since there was no submit button on that folder, even though I wanted to do so in the first instance. Where should I submit them next time?

I noticed that problem. I believe I've fixed it. If you have any further problems, just let me know.

It's in between Russia and Poland, right next to Ukraine, where all the mess is going on right now.

Hahah well, I'm glad you are now. ^^Btw, you are Czech, do you have any knowledge of the Cyrillic alphabet (concerning my recent map of Austria-Bavaria)?

SoaringAven In reply to Athicer [2014-07-20 10:08:57 +0000 UTC]
I am afraid not Nobody uses it here. And only the oldest generation knows azbuka. You would do better contacting a Bulgarian They still use it (I think)

Oh, if I may ask, what is Azbuka?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Athicer In reply to SoaringAven [2014-07-20 11:51:38 +0000 UTC]
Oh like that. ^^ Is that because Czech used the Cyrillic alphabet in the past or because they learned Russian because of the relationships with the Soviet Union?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
SoaringAven In reply to Athicer [2014-07-20 13:48:22 +0000 UTC]
Because Russian was the primary second language during the commie era
Czech hasn't used cyrilic for at least a thousand years.

I wonder if Czech has ever used Cyrillic before... Didn't it convert from runes directly to the Latin alphabet?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
SoaringAven In reply to Athicer [2014-07-20 14:07:38 +0000 UTC]
It DID use cyrilic at the time of Great Moravia but the question is whether that can be called Czech . . . proto-Czech?

Athicer In reply to SoaringAven [2014-07-20 14:26:39 +0000 UTC]
Wow, I knew that Romanian once used Cyrillic, but Czech... nope, didn't know that. So I assume that goes for Polish, Slovakian and maybe Sorbian as well? Can you give me some more information on that? Because that would really help me in designing the Cyrillic alphabets for Polish and Slovak, since I will need to do that for my maps of Poland and Slovakia.

As I said, I don't think it can be called Czech yet As for the others, I have no idea.

Meh, personally I very much dislike Slavic languages. They sound so barbaric.

Athicer In reply to SoaringAven [2014-07-20 15:39:19 +0000 UTC]
But you are a Slav yourself! And so am I (partially at least). I love Slavic languages, maybe a little bit as well because of that barbaric trait. ^^'
Then which languages do you fancy? ^^

SoaringAven In reply to Athicer [2014-07-20 15:44:36 +0000 UTC]
I am. Point being?
I very much enjoy Germanic languages and admire Romance languages

Athicer In reply to SoaringAven [2014-07-20 16:40:57 +0000 UTC]
Well, since you are also so proud of your country you would expect for you to give your language a little more love, but that's my thought on it. ^^'
Germanic languages, all of them?
I like most Slavic languages, but I think Ukrainian and Russian are the most beautiful ones. I have heard Czech, but it is not an annoying language to listen to or anything. Germanic languages, well some are quite ok, like English, Dutch and most Nordic Languages. I don't know if you can still call what I speak a Germanic language. And Romanic, well, I am not a big fan but fair.
I just don't really like High German, Danish and French, for the annoying way they pronounce the -r (Which is why I fancy Austrian German so much ), and Italian for the sometimes so exaggerated swings in the language that it becomes annoying to listen to. But this is just the languages, that doesn't say anything about the people.

I sometimes wonder what I have to be proud about for my country. I'm prod of parts of it's history and how it used to be during the first republic. I am not proud of what it is today.
As far as I know, yes.
I find that the further east you go, the more horrible the language. No offence intended, I know you're from Belarus. :c
I think that Germanic languages are nice while Romance languages are really elegant.
