do you use a photoshopping programme to make the colours more bright and defined?

Sometimes, yes (the gimp)... But it's not something I very good at yet, so I usually end up messing up the colors.
I've also used filters in some of my photos (warming, polarization, sky, etc).

have you got a wide angle attachment on your camera as well as the filters?
im very new to all of this and just want to get advice and information off some more experienced photographers.
