thank you for the beautiful pictures!!! You are living one of my dreams !!! Having the privilege of watching such a wonderful nature espectacle and sharing it with the world is fantastic.
My partner and I are planning a trip to the north to witness the aurora borealis. I can imagine that a simple pocket camar is not enough to capture the beauty of this lights ? is there any advice you can give me ? I have a Nikon coolpix l110 would that be enough , our should i gear up a little more ?

Yeah it is quite like a dreamlike state when chasing the auroras, wouldnt change it for anything.
You can certainly capture the aurora with that camera, but if you really want to get good picture I would suggest upgrading a little.
for the cheaper end, go with a nikon d5100, a decent wide angle lens, and a sturdy tripod.
If you want to get up to really good stuff, then d600 or better, 14-24 f/2.8 lens, a induro, manofrotto or gitzo tripod with ballhead.
