Q1: Really the main opportunity that helped me get my first comic done and printed was SenshiCon 2012. I had planned early in the year that I would have everything ready so that I could debut YOU CAN RELY ON PLAYTPI at the event. Giving yourself a goal, and a deadline to get your work done is are really good motivator to completing things. There is nothing quite as satisfying a getting you book back from the printer and having everything ready to go.

Q2: The main influences of my style are some of the greatest cartoonists of the past 50 years. Winsor McKay's Little Nemo, Walt Kelly's Pogo, Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes, and Carl Bark's Adventures of Scrooge McDuck. My contemporary influences are Jeff Smith's Bone comics, and the beautiful comic Blacksad, drawn by Juanjo Guarnido. If you haven't read Blacksad, then you need to get it today! It's gorgeous.

Q3: Just keep pushing yourself. Think of the things that you hate to draw (I hate drawing buildings) and make yourself add those elements into you work. Be sure to build your collection of visual references (collect architecture magazines, National Geographics, and books on medieval armor – anything that will aide in drawing.) And above all, set goals! Tell yourself, I'm going to do a page a week on my webcomic, or I'll have my book done by Christmas. Goals give you deadlines, and those spur on the work.

I hope this all helps. I really like your style, and I think your work is coming along great. Keep it up!
