# About me
My name is Kato.I was born and raised in Wales, UK, and emigrated to America in 2007.
I decided to house my designs under the name SteampunkCouture in 2005 after a friend introduced me to the term "steampunk" when describing the way I dressed, my style of illustration and most importantly, the couture clothing that I was making for a small number of clients from my kitchen table.
Six years on, the business operates out of Hollywood and Portland and I'm able to employ one very talented seamstress, an in-house photographer and a brilliant customer service, packer and shipper to work alongside me.
I'm something of a workaholic hermit, fabric-junky and at times, a total geek. Easily entertained by life's little things and happiest when I find myself in complete solitude with the freedom to create.
Life is about creating and following your dreams. If you ruthlessly pursue that which you feel most passionately about, you'll find that doors will open for you.

I recently saw you on Steampunk'd thanks to Netflix. You were the focal point for me anytime you were on screen. Your style is amazing and you are beyond gorgeous! The aesthetic of your outfits are absolutely wonderful. Keep up the amazing work!

I've loved your work for years, and you too of course...I mean how many people are so beautiful and unique in their creativity and art as well as their own personal beauty. I love your look, I love your style, I love love love SteamPunkCouture!!!! Sometimes when I go to your page (website/fb/etsy) and I see your work, or I see something new that you have created ... and it is like sometimes I feel like somehow you reached into my head, picked out a couple of palets of colors under my 'Favorites', and several samples of material and fabric/leather/accessories/etc. also in another one of my 'Favorites' sections/folders in my mind , and then you took a look in my "likes" in my head and then you swirled your arms around, some sort of magic happened then a new perfect piece is 'born' that I instantly fall in love with as soon as I see it. Thank you for sharing your creativity and yourself with all of us steampunk couture people who love it ALL!!!
