I didn't actually read "My Immortal", or else I might have had an aneurism. xD I watch Cryaotic's live streams on Saturday nights a lot, and the group of them were reading it out, and it was HILARIOUS! But without that voice acting to back it up, especially on the chapters where it's not edited by the other girl, it's PAINFUL... The story is painful in and of itself, but to try and get through the spelling AND story... It was hurting me to look at the words as they read along! So bad. So very bad. Though I will say, it's the least Harry Potter Harry Potter fan fiction there is, I think. It's barely anything but a story with characters that have similar names. So it shouldn't count. xD It's got me too afraid to look for good fan fiction though. :c Though as someone who is not a fan of most of the canon couples, I think I ought to...

And oh my goodness, high five! I thought I was the only one who loathed Saint Lily and the Holy Marauders... I'm cool with Lupin, because he seemed like for the most part he just tried to stay out of all of it, but he had crap choice in friends. And he did try to seem to make an effort to get along with Severus while he worked at Hogwarts, though who could blame him for not trusting him or wanting to be bothered? I know a lot of people dislike the Marauders, I suppose, but not Lily. They speak of her like she's divine and can do no wrong. I think of her with a few expletives attached.

And it's true, they do! A lot of my husband's friends who met me when we had only been married a year have said, "Wow, you're as bad as he is now! How did that happen?" and I go, "We've been married 8 years, you didn't expect it to rub off a bit?" It's impossible to avoid, we're like swiffers to our husband's dirty minds! All of the filth becomes a part of us! It's a beautiful thing, marriage. xD

Man, wish I could livestream stuff. I'm on a stupid satellite connection, and I can only do so much video before it conks out.
Either that, or the buffering kills me. Do they record any of it? I'd definitely stay up 'til my 2 in the morning 'free' time to download it!
It's funny...I've loved HP for a long time. Ginny and Harry always bugged me, but I didn't know why. It wasn't until about a year and a half ago that I discovered fanfiction! I've been absolutely consumed by it since. I'm a fast reader, so I tend to devour stories. It would probably scare you if I tried to come up with an actual number! But YES there is some really bad fic out there. I stick mostly to the Drarry end of things to be on the safe side. Not that I haven't read others...but... everyone has their own squicks and kinks.
It's also funny that I'm not sure WHY I never cared for Lily; the only specific thing we saw in cannon was Snape's memory, and yes, was she ever C-O-L-D!
It always made me think of when you see on the news that someone has died. "Oh, ___ smile lit up the room!" or "___was the nicest person!" Do you ever hear someone say, "Damn, ___ still has my casserole dish?" I guess I had the thought that NO one is a Saint and it gets on my nerves when people are spoken of as such. James and Sirius were first-class pure-blood jerks. If it wasn't for the brilliant piece of magic that is/was the Map, I'd say they probably weren't all that bright, either - not withstanding them becoming illegal animagi. (Which is why I have that as my journal skin, but if I could figure out how the frig to change it to the Slytherin skin I've been coveting!!)
LMAO to husbands - I've been asked the same thing, although I, with a quirk of my eyebrow ask, "And how do you know that I'M not the one who corrupted HIM?"

I'm infectious over the interwebs!!! xD I'm still lingering with it too, isn't that just the best way to start a new year?? >.<

They do have them recorded, I think. They do it through Twitch. It's [link] and the archives are there at the bottom I think. They finished it a while back, but it's luckily at the beginning of their shows. They were doing pizza hour, where they'd order a pizza for someone and read My Immortal while they waited for it to arrive. xD So it's always in the first hour to hour and a half of the stream. It's side-splittingly funny being read by them. Otherwise it's painful... xD It's rough because it starts at 11pm est, but it goes until about 6-7am... So while the start is okay in pst, it still goes past my tired limit... But it's entertaining as heck!

I would love to live stream too, but my internet is unreliable as well... It's fiber optic now, methinks, but for some reason it keeps resetting. Part is our router, but part is them, and between the two, it's hard to keep a steady connection for long periods of time. Last stream I watched it went down about 3 times. >.<

I read a post on Tumblr that really kind of made me think about the whole Harry/Ginny thing and why it bothered me... [link] <-It's long, but really worth the read. And I agree with it whole-heartedly. It also kind of hits on my Ron/Hermione dislike. Harry Potter and the 10 Years later (a short fan-made series on YouTube if you haven't seen it!) really hit the nail on the head for them with me, where Hermione and Ron were at a bit of a crossroad. Ron was unsuccessful financially, and spent most of his time goofing off, and Hermione was so anally retentive and was successful because she never did anything wrong. And it drove them both a bit mental. I figure, that's how it would probably have been for them, not the perfect epilogue ending JK wrote. The only reason I can even envision them together at all is because they went through so much together, they might be willing to stick it out and keep going. Harry and Ginny, on the other hand... Well that Tumblr post summed it all up.

And yeah, through his memories and the known facts, I established my hate for her. The simplest reason is: She married the man that made her best friend's life hell. That is one of the most vindictive and spiteful things EVER. JAMES drove Severus to the breaking point where he lashed out at her. JAMES started the rivalry out of jealousy in the first place. If it weren't for James, they'd have been peaceful and happy, not necessarily as a couple (I think he was friend-zoned for life regardless...) but at least as friends. The book said Lily went out with James because he had changed in 7th year. Yeah, he effed up Sev and Lily's friendship so what point was there to screw with Sev anymore? (And I know it's a horrible word to use, but I can think of a few MORE horrible words my friends could call me in anger and I'd still forgive them! That's what friends do! And after knowing him since they were 9, she should have KNOWN he didn't mean it, and that abandoning him was a surefire way to send him into the grip of the Slytherin future-Death Eaters that she wanted him to stay away from! She's so dumb...) Dating a guy that treated your best friend like that (and that you claimed to hate so much) is like spitting on your friend and the friendship you shared, and is a horrible disgusting thing to do. If she severed her friendship with him and moved on with someone else, it would be more forgivable. Okay, it hurt her, but she's moving on. It's not moving on with a guy so inextricably tied to that friend.

It's true that everyone just erases the sins of those who pass away. (By the way, that casserole dish quip had me in stitches!!!!) And perhaps in a lot of people's eyes they WERE saints, like James/Lily in Sirius'. And I LOVE that Severus isn't afraid to stomp over that line right in Harry's face. I just wish that he saw that LILY was just as bad, and instead of wasting his life pining over someone who treated him so reprehensibly, he could have moved on as best he could. I kind of feel like that was a horrible character trait to put on him, the friend-zoned outcast who obsesses until death over a woman who treated him like crap and married the man he loathed, and keeps her on a pedestal like some pathetic loser even though she's dead and gone. I can totally accept that he was a loyal friend always, and that he continued to care about her to some degree. But I think JK over did it and to me it's more like a character assassination at the end. I dunno... Maybe I'm taking it the wrong way. I just felt like here is this perfect character, and then she gives him this motivation that is just like beating him to death with a bat. It makes me sad... Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if I didn't hate Lily. I dunno. CONFLICT!

I ranted too much, better end that Rage-A-Rainbow! LOL

And that's true about husband corrupting! I didn't think about that! xD I know I was corrupted before I met him (I was a horridly wrong minded little girl! haha), and perhaps that is what it is... It's a melding of the corrupted minds, that joining of forces for the dark side! Peraps there is no one corrupting the other... It's the combined twisted minds feeding off one another to make a super corruption in the both of you! xD

OMG girl! Wanted to reply to this a few days ago, but figured I better 'get my rant on'. Can't believe it's the end of the dang month already.
So, let's do this thing *cracks knuckles and cackles*. I'm one of those chicks that when I go out, I'm the quiet one, unless it's a bunch of strangers. I've had people tell me later that they thought I was stuck up because I didn't get in on the conversation. It's one reason I'm really looking forward to Misti-Con in May. All those Potter people! Sigh, I wish you were going. *pout pout* I'll be able to actually TALK to people and get into lovely arguments about how the Marauders were a bunch of nasty brats lol.

Thank you for the links!! I ended up watching them play trivial pursuit until my internet decided to take a crap. Still have to go back and find the Potter ones. The one about Ginny...well, yeah! I mean, Ginny is awesome in her own way. She's one tough cookie, and I suppose I would've felt better about the whole he-ends-up-with-her-happy-ever-after if she'd been given more face time. Oh Flitwick, the Ginny-nugget link isn't working now, grrr, I was gonna quote something. But, the point was, that Harry was all suddenly "wow, I've gotta dick now and there's a hot redhead!" The whole Cho-thing was pfffttt; we don't even know WHY he liked her, she was so peripheral. I think that’s why, after I stumbled upon a Drarry picture that I was suddenly, “well, bloody hell that makes even more sense!” There’s so much shipping out there in every fandom, and I don’t knock anyone’s ship; whatever floats your boat, ya know? Well I’ll be a flobberworm – that same blog that had the Ginny thing, she’s recently answered one about Snape. As for Ron and Hermione…it never really bothered me one way or the other. I couldn’t stand Ron most of the time; between what happened in GOF and then in DH, I wanted to shake him. To me, Ron’s most redeeming quality is how he treated Dobby! To be fair, for the MOST part he never treated Harry like he was an idiot, when Harry didn’t know something that ‘most wizards’ would know, he just explained it instead of acting as if Harry SHOULD know.

It’s sort of sad, but sometimes the more I think about the Potter world, the more morose I get. There was just so much wrong with so many things; it’s one of those…I should stop thinking and just enjoy the bloody story. Snape…half the time I felt like someone should just shove a cheering potion down his throat. Granted, I had some nasty teachers in my day, but to be out-right cruel like he was to so many students not in Slytherin – he should’ve been suspended from duty. My favorite teachers were the tough ones, who wanted perfection in our work, but NOT the teacher who would make fun of someone’s looks, weight, birth, etc. Yeah, yeah, in real life people ARE cruel, but it’s different when it’s a teacher in a position of power doing that to a student. There were times when Harry went over the line, and he did break a helluva lot of rules (well, where would all 7 books be if he followed rules?), and there was one point…and I bet you can guess which one I’m talking about…where Snape saved the day and Harry should have gotten expelled PRONTO.

I totally get your point – Snape was the one who told her about magic, Snape was the one who assured her that she was normal even when her own sister was being cruel. Snape was the one she shared her hopes and dreams with until the future-Death-Eaters started pulling him away from her. If she was so worried about what he was doing, why didn’t she say something more? Encourage him to find other interests? Ask him to help her with her potions homework or work on a special study project! On a personal note, when I was in high school, one of my best friends suddenly ran away and got in with a really bad crowd. It was pretty much out of the blue, there were only a few hints that she was going down that path. To this day, her life is messed up; abusive husband, alcoholism, the works. I think about the ‘could have beens’ and how Lilly DID have warning; there are few secrets in Hogwarts. I HAVE had friends call me really, really foul names in the heat of anger, and by golly I’ve said some nasty things too – but we forgive. Not necessarily forget, but THAT’S WHAT FRIENDS DO.

And I wasn’t the ‘sweet little girl’ on the inside, either hehe. I was writing PWP as soon as I could hold a pencil. Man, I had some serious kinks even at a young age, and all the angst-ridden poetry in my old journals is just…well, yeah – proud to say I taught my hubby a few tricks when we met hehe.

I wish they had one of those here on the west coast! Well, they probably do, but I don't know where or when or what it is... I must find one! While you're at Misti-Con, be sure to put all of those Marauder lovers in their place!! Which is at the bottom of your shoe, muahaha! (Ok not really, because that would probably get you kicked out, but still! )

I kept hoping the guys would combine the footage from their streams to make a compilation reading of it, but alas, earwax. I love that 7k+ people tune in every weekend to watch them sit there and joke around... When they played Draw My Thing, it was fantastic. xD I played that with my sister a lot, and I used to piss her off by sticking Severus into every picture. So she'd have to wait for me to draw him before she could start guessing. xD

I agree, Drarry does make more sense even without actually reading any fan fics yet... I mean I can at least see them having that rivalry that they had turn into something more, because at least there was something PASSIONATE in that. Harry/Ginny was exactly as you said. He wanted her when he saw her with other guys, something that wasn't his and he wanted to take because hormones. She was all eyes aglow about him when she was younger, but I don't see how someone as independent and vibrant as her would settle so quickly. I can see "Oh, so you want me now? After you've blown me off all of this time? Oh, no you don't. Piss off." I'd have quite enjoyed that. c:

Ron pissed me off too, because he was indeed a crappy friend. Though at least he had the cajones to come back, even though he was wrong. Unlike certain red-headed women we don't like... Though he never had big enough ones to say "I'm sorry for being a jerk, Harry and Hermione. I was rash and stupid, and I want you to forgive me. I'll try harder to not be again." He was a good person, he just was just too jealous and was an ass about it. (Understatement. xD)

Severus' actions I generally can attribute to his needing to have that certain reputation maintained. The same reason he treated Harry so horribly is why he treated EVERYONE that way. I figure if he was soft to ANY of them, it would have called into question his motives, and people such as Lucius Malfoy (I love that his name is so close to luscious. It just makes me giggle. xD) would have sold him out to Voldemort in half a heart beat. He seemed to be fair, grading wise, he just treated everyone like crap to keep that "Slytherin Dark Wizard" stereotype. Though he definitely needed to lighten up a little. I'll just be a terrible woman and say, "HE NEEDED TO GET LAIIIIDDDD." I had a teacher in 4th grade. Meanest teacher ever, no sense of humour, was nasty and cruel to everyone. Openly picked on students in class. She was the female equivalent to Severus, except without the hot factor. And she was older. Anyhow, 6 years later, my brother ends up in her class. She was a Miss when I had her, a Mrs. when he had her, and he said, "She's a really nice teacher, I like her a lot!" Got married/got laid, all was well. HE NEEDED TO GET LAIIIIDDDDD! *LOL* I'd volunteer. Yep.

And it's okay, I already know I'm off my rocker a bit. So now my page is just a little extra reflection of that! xD But now you're going to have the loony stigma too! Run while you still can!!! ...or perhaps it's already too late!!!

There’s probably some sort of Potter convention out your way. Wish the damn thing wasn’t so expensive; going to be my (past) Christmas, birthday and mother’s day presents rolled into one. From what I’ve seen, there’s a lot of Snape-lovin’ and Death-Eater-wannabes running around, so I’m sure I’ll be in good company! Hehe.

My kid thinks that Luna would have been a better match for Harry. She said, “Luna’s endearing oddballness would match Harry much better than Ginny’s seriousness. Even though Ginny went through all that Riddle stuff, I think Luna, in the end, is even braver. She knows who she is and is okay with it. That would be good for Harry.” I agreed with her, that if I didn’t love Drarry so much, Luna would be next on my list.

Have you ever heard the song “Lily’s worst Memory” by the Blibbering Humdingers? If not, I think you should definitely give it a look-see…or would that be a hear-see? Hrm. Hint: I’ve been singing Snape’s part of the lyrics which includes “I sport a satin thong” all day today. But Yeah, he definitely needed to get laid. Weird, I had the same thing with my 1st grade teacher! When I had her, she was going through a divorce, BUT having a terrible affair with the 4th grade teacher (and neither of them were much to look at but hey, whatever). My daughter had her for 1st grade eons later; she was re-married and actually SMILED. It was sort of creepy. The next year I pulled her out of school to do home/cyber school, so now I can be Snapeish when I teach science (speaking of, my kid wants to do a video series called Snape’s science lab and combine fun magic potions with real science stuff. I really need to get a video camera!).

Although, I had one teacher that really picked on students, and the ‘jocks’ really hated him because he wouldn’t let them skip homework for games when other teachers did. *misty eyed look* He was great. Nasty old bugger. Had a keen sense of humor though. The class was political science, and two weeks into it, I wrote my own declaration of independence - basically saying that I wasn’t going to do tests, nor homework; found copies of the signatures of the people who signed the original and added them to the bottom. He gave me a bit of a wide birth after that. Anyway! Yeah, Snape was pretty nasty to most people, not just Harry. We see nearly everything through Harry’s eyes, so it’s hard to see what happens behind, say, the Slytherin doors.

I happily wear the loony stigma! *grabs my pair of radish earrings and insists that they go perfect with silver and green*

I've actually felt a lot of feels about the whole idea of Luna and Harry. Especially after the scene in HBP where when talking about who to bring to Slughorn's party he says he'll bring, "Someone I like... Someone cool." and he brings Luna. c: Because she's awesome. They have so much more chemistry than Ginny/Harry, and also more than Neville/Luna. I really hate that they just felt like, "Well we have 2 characters that don't get hooked up in the books... They're both awkward, so we can just stick 'em together." I didn't ever feel chemistry with them. Heck, I didn't even feel a real strong friendship between them. Camaraderie sure, they went through hell together. But aside from the train rides and Dumbledore's Army (and sticking together, though in a group, for survival's sake during the school year in the last book), they didn't really 'hang out.' I like Neville, I think he's a cool mofo, but I do not ship that...

Then again, I don't ship most canon couples from the Potterverse. I think the only canon ones I really truly support whole heartedly are Molly/Arthur and Andromeda/Ted. OH! And Vernon/Petunia. That doesn't stop the art for the others, with Tonks/Remus being my one I drew the most despite not really shipping it... I guess because there isn't much back story to it. We get the idea she liked him, then she confronts him on it eventually, and boom, married and baby. Like WHY did she like him? There was not a lot of real chemistry shown in the books, so it's just like Bill/Fleur. He saw the hot young French girl and boom, next book they were engaged. I think Drarry has a lot more chemistry from the canon than either of those relationships do, and Drarry didn't even actually happen! That either goes to show how crappy those 2 relationships were in the books that a non-canon relationship is better, or how awesome Drarry is that it shows up the canon. xD Perhaps both are right!

I know there was only so much side character development JK could do, and I will definitely admit to crying at Tonks' and Remus' deaths. I think they were great characters. She developed them wonderfully. But as a couple, there really wasn't any. And I know it's not for a lack of my imagination making up some good reasons. I could ship anything if I felt passion between the 2 subjects. However, despite Fleur's bedside championing of Bill in HBP after he gets Fenrir'ed, I don't feel anything for them. Same for Tonks and Remus, though I really WANT to. I love Tonks, and I'm cool with Remus. I'd hug them both. I just don't see chemistry with them. I hate to admit it, but the idea of Sev/Lily has more passion to it than either of them. And I obviously do not support that coupling.

And something tells me that behind Severus' douche bag exterior lie an inner geek who just wanted to go play WoW and watch anime. (Wait, maybe I'm confusing him for me? Haha!) I'd be bitter if I were stuck doing a job I had no interest in doing, especially one like teaching. It's bad enough to be stuck doing a crappy job behind closed doors, but one where you have to interact with people? He was obviously always socially awkward, and putting the geeky guy who was picked on mercilessly in charge? I would bet a hefty sum that he enjoyed unleashing some of that pent up aggression on the students. Though I'd also bet he'd have liked to vent it on his own house's students, but that would have 'broken his cover' so to speak. That's not to say anyone with that history and in that position would do that, of course. He was obviously always bitter, though, so it seems plausible. I still think he was a nice guy below it all, and that he was just overly bitter and playing a part and that the two combined made for a bastard of a man. I see post-war Sev in a cottage in Cornwall county, in his pj's, tanking a 20 man heroic raid, or watching a harem or shoujo anime... Azumanga Daioh perhaps? I think he'd love Sakaki. And maybe he'd have a few cats. Someone once saw him as a dog person, but really. He's got the personality of a cat and then some. Either that or he'd be a huge Star Wars geek. But I'd prefer the prior, since I'm not really into Star Wars so much. xD

Do a big post con journal! Take lots of pics! Oh man, the cosplay!! It's gonna be so cool... That'll be the coolest combo present! It's almost sickening how expensive cons are... But the experience is so worth it! I just found [link] and I'm thinking about seeing if I can attend some of these events... Leaky Con is the biggest, but it's in Portland, Oregon. Yeah... I live just shy of 1000 miles south, and as much as husband loves me, DefCon is only a 4-5 hr drive to get to Las Vegas. Portland is nearly 15 hours at LEAST. He's totes not gonna go for that. So I don't get my dream convention! I'll just have to locate some Potterheads at the local comic cons. xD Perhaps I'll actually get to go to the one in San Diego this year! Either way, conventions are so awesome, but man are they a bank drainer! ;3;
