# About me
I like to surf the web and stare at other people's handmade items wondering how another human being can possibly be so talented. I also like sewing, cross stitching, sometimes sculpting and buying fabric. I don't care what kind of fabric, I will buy all of it nom nom nom <3Tumblr - cutetherapy.tumblr.com/

AHHH <3 Hello you! ^^ I'm so glad you found me! I'm terrible at remembering to add people- I probably would've done it in like 4 months and you'd be like "I don't know who you even are you creep" and I'd be a creep /;n; How ARE YOU?! How was the con for you? Tell me everything! ^^

gakka In reply to CuteTherapy [2013-04-03 03:09:03 +0000 UTC]
!!
How could anyone ever think someone with the username "CuteTherapy" is creepy, no matter what they do?! That's pretty much impossible! You could be like "Here, I found a picture of your house on google earth!" and I'd be like "awww, how endearing!!" Be careful with the power you wield with that name. . .
I'm GREAT!! I was so surprised at how the Con went, since it was my first time at Sakura Con (and my only other Con being Aki Con)I had no expectations. What a blast!! (although a ton of work to prepare for. . .I'm still tired!!!!)
How about you?! How was Sunday - were you there? Did I miss anything exciting?!

CuteTherapy In reply to gakka [2013-04-03 07:37:07 +0000 UTC]
Hahaha! <3 I'm totally going to have to do that one day. Find a friend on DA and not tell them who I am and just be like "YOU LIVE IN A NICE HOUSE LOL" with a picture >w> I'll direct them back to this and be like "You can't be creeped out, I'm too adorable" :,D
The only thing you miss on Sundays is the mad rush of people wanting to spend last minute money. I would say most people wait to buy stuff until Sunday because most artists lower their prices on Sundays in an attempt to clear out stock. Other then that, nothing too crazy. The day went by too fast and we were done in like an instant (the WHOLE WEEKEND did actually ;n; ) I'm trying to figure out some future cons for myself. I usually only do Aki and Sakura-Con but I really, really DON'T want to do Aki-Con ever again. Are you doing any others this year?
I always do all my prep work the week of the con because I'm a top notch procrastinator. One of the best in the world I'd wager. I'm already work on my next one though- without knowing when/what it will be. Not the safest idea, eh? Ah ha haaa... /shot

EXACTLY!!!! Be afraid, world. . .the power of cute is about to be unleashed!!!
Yeah, I've heard that Sunday is the biggest day for artists to make sales - I bet that was exciting to be busy and watch the last of everyone's con budget turn into art! I hope you did well!! After all the preparation, it's crazy to think how quickly the weekend went. . .I'm with you on that one! Although on Friday, I had only had four hours of sleep. . .so I think I was only half conscious the entire time
Yeah, I'm NOT doing Aki Con this year. No way. It would be fun to look into other possible cons, hmmm. . . that's a good idea! I'm also trying to set up an etsy shop, I have prints leftover that I'd love to sell. . .
Hey, at least for this next con you'll be prepared (no matter when it is!!)!! Hahaha I waited like the month before for Aki Con and it was a NIGHTMARE for me getting ready, I had to sell prints of some of my artwork like half-finished just so I'd have a variety of things to sell. ..ugh. I learned my lesson though and have been preparing since last year for Sakura Con, I was really ready this time!!

I love your gallery ;___; *grabby hands* I didn't get much of a chance to look at your work at the con, and I totally regret it now.
The con went well for me, I always make almost the exact same amount of profit so next year we're aiming to just smash that number.I do get a decent amount of sales throughout the year, espcially for commissions, but I don't sell prints and stuff. It's mostly little accessories for MLPonies and clay stuff (If I get my lazy self to actually do any of it =w= )
Hahaha, my first year at Sakura-Con I was wait listed at first- this was when there were only 55 tables per year. I didn't get the "Ok, we have a spot for you" until ONE MONTH before the convention. I was working two jobs, and planning my wedding for that August. I STILL DID IT! BD I almost just said never mind, but I'll never regret doing it. I'll have to see if I can find a picture of my awful, awful table from that year. It was so sad =w=
There's one I wanted to do called "Chibichibi-con" in Olympia. And there's on in Vancouver, Wa as well, I can't remember the name of that one. Let me know if you sign up for any- maybe I'll give one a go too >w<

gakka In reply to CuteTherapy [2013-04-08 19:57:00 +0000 UTC]
Awww, thank you!! I'm flattered!! I'm going to have to work on expanding my work a bit, methinks, if I plan to go back to Sakura Con again . . .
Well, at least you consistently make a profit -that in and of itself is awesome!! I was amazed to have made a profit at this first Con, that was really mind-blowing to me. Honestly, I have no doubt that if you put your mind to it, you can make even more - your stuff is ADORABLE!! But I can totally relate to how hard it can be sometimes to motivate yourself to be productive, especially creatively. I had to really push myself to get all the artwork done I wanted to have for Sakura Con - but, I'm really glad I did :-D
ARE YOU SERIOUS?! DANG, your first year makes mine look like a cake walk!!! That is incredible!!! I would have flipped if I only had a month to prepare. . . hahaha I would love to see your table if you find a pic, with so little time I can imagine that the display became sort of the last priority If it's any consollation, your table now is adorable - my sister commented that she loved how you used a banner with your logo as a tablecloth
Oooohhh Chibichibi Con? I've never heard of that! Let me know if you sign up for any more, and I will let you know too! My sister is pushing me to try to sell at Emerald City Comic Con, but I only have a few generic "cartoon" fanarts and I don't think anime would sell very well with that crowd. . .with the cutness you have to offer though, maybe you should consider it!! Eh?

CuteTherapy In reply to gakka [2013-04-12 00:16:10 +0000 UTC]
UWAAAA~! Emerald City Comic-Con is a scary thought ;^; I don't know if I'll ever feel comfortable enough to sell there, but I think what you do would fit in so perfectly! You should totally do it AND YOU SHOULD ABSOLUTELY COME BACK TO SAKURA-CON D:
I looked forever for a picture- I KNOW I have a good one somewhere but this was all I could find: [link] It's taken from behind the table by my tablemate- but you can see the table a little. That's literally all it was. There was like 20 itty bitty little laminated prints with a black background on that bamboo mat x.x;; NONE of it was fanart btw- it was all OC's. I think one little girl bought one from me =w= they were $.025 each.
Oh man, I could talk about my first year there forever, I was scared and almost didn't do it and blah blah blah. Now I LOVE doing them ^^
Hahaha! I love how your sister likes my table cloth since it's not supposed to be like that >w< I bought it to use as an actual banner in front of our table, but every year we forget to bring something to hang it up with so we're always like "Oh well, it's a table cloth again!" Thank you for the complimentsthoguht //w// I loved your table- I would have never, ever guessed you were new to conventions!
Chibichibi con is a really small college run convention and it's free for attendees! Tables are really cheap, but I think it's in Olympia @n@ It's hard for me to be ok spending so much on a hotel room when I won't be able to make enough money to cover the hotel costs- maybe one day!

ECCC IS SCARY TO THINK ABOUT SELLING AT!!! Do you really think my work would sell there? (well, you're sweet to say so anyways!! ) Hmmm. . . I dunno, it's pretty freaky to think about . . . if I decide to give it a try, I'll probably have to create a few new pieces to target that sort of audience specifically. That would make me feel better if I decide to do it
HAHAHA no worries about me returning to Sakura Con m'dear, at this point I will probably be coming back (if I get a table again) It was a great experience (I networked with some cool people too!! *WINK WINK*) and I bet if I had a whole table to myself, I could really crank out some fun stuff to display and sell!! (ORR I could take a nap on the table and just really confuse everyone XD)
Wow. . .your first year sounds discouraging!!! I'm so glad that you used it to come back again better and stronger!! Ugh that would be hard - I would have been so discouraged, but it's crazy how it led you into something you love now!!! I love that it worked out that way for you!!
That's hilarious!!!! I told my sister, she laughed too and said that she still thinks its awesome as a table cloth
Oh and THANK YOU about our display!! Oh my GOODNESS I put so much time into figuring it out and building it. . . I've been to a few cons as a guest so I was pretty familiar with what people's displays look like, even though I've just started selling myself. I must have sketched up at least 4 or 5 different display layout ideas and then this design almost didn't work - we had to do a last minute change, but it turned out great in the end I was so happy (and RELIEVED!!!)
Hmm interesting. . .Olympia would suck, that's definitely a drive for me, but it may be fun to at least go to as a guest. I'll have to let my sister know, she's especially always on the hunt for new cons Thanks for telling me about it!!!

Oh you're so welcome about... everything you thanked me for 'w' <3 There were like 50 things! Don't be silly!
I think your art would sell really well at ECCC- but I've never been there so my opinion might not count for much ._. Creating some new pieces certainly wouldn't hurt though! I hope one day to have enough print-worthy pieces covering enough fandoms that I can just pick and choose what I want to display =w= Networking is usually my favorite part of conventions, but my husband was with me this time (for the first time!) so I focused a lot on him and making sure he was having fun so he would do it again next time. It totally worked too! He even wants me to fabricate armor for him to wear :,D He's not really the cosplay/silly fun type so this was a huge awesome victory moment for me ^^

gakka In reply to CuteTherapy [2013-04-15 01:48:02 +0000 UTC]
But being silly is so FUN! Hahaha I know, I tend to be a bit overly polite when I meet people - don't mind me
When I've been at ECC before, what I see for sale in the AA is usually lots of Marvel & DC characters and Star Trek/Star Wars stuff. I think those are probably some pretty solid fanbases for artists to sell art related to - and if I were to sell there, I'd probably want to create a few pieces related to those fandoms. I LOVE the idea of having enough variety in art that you could just sell at any convention! That would be such a blast. I would love to travel out of state and try selling too, if only traveling wasn't so expensive. . .sigh.
That's wonderful that your hubby enjoyed himself! Especially sitting behind a table all day, it could be really easy to hate it - but he even wants to wear armor next time!! Haha that is so awesome!
My sister enjoyed herself enough that she says she'll come back and help me sell, but she didn't sell enough to want to try selling her own products again (she makes jewelry out of guitar picks). It's really nice to not have to sit by yourself

Hi! I met you at Aki-con and got a commission from you. I love it soo much! Thank you soo much for doing that. Me and my friend made you draw K-Pop idols so I don't know if that helps you remember us. Hopeful it does. And yes... this is quite late... Sorry ><
