Hello, I used some of your creations, which I find very good ( in one of my themes for Windows 7 I called: A Clockwork Orange (see the demonstration in video here:www.youtube.com/watch?v=JP2yMH… and a detailed description here:chris-info-service.deviantart.…
I hope it does not bother you (I notified the references pointing to your artworks in the description) otherwise, contact me and I will make sure to adjust it.
Thank you again for your work, regards,
ToXiK

Nevermind the previous comment. I found which images contain the taskbar border. But I'm still having one problem. There's a short 1 pixel grey border above the start button when I remove the taskbar border. Do you know how to get rid of it (w/ aero.msstyles, I'm guessing)?
Here's a pic of it: [link]

I'll be honest, I pretty much gave up on customizing Win 7, got my desktop "good enough for me" type of thing. There's far too many 2X1 pixel images to sort through and I can nearly guarantee that's what you need to find.
I bought and used Style Builder which can give you loads of hints on what does what. The website can be found here: [link]
Hope that's of some help to you.

I was visiting Conscar's "Invisible Taskbar" theme, and found that you commented on his profile and found out that he removed the taskbar border by editing PNGs in aero.msstyles. I'm using a custom theme, but it isn't very different from the standard Win7 Aero theme. Did you ever find out which image contains the taskbar border? I'd really love to know the image #, since it's hard to find with hundreds of images. Thanks.

Hope you like my latest icons, the Eric Gill stamp set? A few more to do then onto something else.
It is entirely your fault that I'm here in the first place. Thanks for recommending Deviantart to me.

Damn!! You can't edit posted messages!! One dial I've seen has kph around the top with rpm covering the bottom. That looks like a good one to play with. But best let me know what you really are looking for. The bigger and better the image, the better for me to "copy" and play with.
Best Regards.

Icons seem to be your hobby, aren't they? Which tool do you use to convert highres-images into a multi-resolution *.ico file? I searched for a Freeware Icon-Editor so long, but I only found Shareware which is also buggy.

Elmer-BeFuddled In reply to dracenmarx [2010-10-02 09:01:49 +0000 UTC]
I knock up the "image" using Photoshop.
I then use IconWorkshop to convert them to multi-res icons, mainly because it has plug-ins for Adobe so you just send them across to it. I used to use IcoFX which can also batch convert images to multi-res icons.

Thanks for your comment.
Wow, great. IcoFX fills my needs and is free. Great, finally I have a highres icon editor (before I only used Borland Editor which only could handle 32x32 @ 16 colors).
IconWorkshop I would not try since it is no free software, also I think it would not work with my old PhotoShop (PS7) as plugin.

IcoFX is good for what it is (and I don't mean it's bad!!). I started with Photoshop CS and cannot remember the number but you can try IconWorkshop as a free trial for 30 days. You never know, you may like it enough to get the full version!! (yes, the Borland Editor is now showing its age!!). The advantage of Axialis IconWorkshop is it has a direct Photoshop plug-in, means missing out the save as *.png, then opening the icon editor of your choice with the *.png file. It's the only reason I use it.
Did you ave any problems opening the .psd file with PS7? Wasn't sure how backward compatible they are/were.

I might try the trial version of IconWorkshop and compare it to IcoFX. Your PSD did work good with PS7. I am thinking about if I modify the icon a bit. Since I plan "AutoSFX", I probably need to add something that shows the user, that this archive opens fast and automatically.
