Photography for me is a way of life. In my mind is a constant search for aesthetics in the world around me and how I can capture it.

Photography draws on all three aspects of me as a person;

The art of image making, aesthetics and style.
The technical knowledge and understanding of scientific principles governing the behaviour of light, optics and geometry, the electronic limitations of digital sensors and the chemical processing in film. Application of this to the image making process.
The philosophy in the image.

All this melds together into one art form- Science as a technical tool, philosophy as soul.

Thank you for your opinion. I like to take pictures but I don't have to put too much time. If I add photos to my gallery to the wholesale trade, otherwise I wouldn't put many photos on DeviantArt.

Alright, I've added a comment :) (Smile) I've had that camera for a few months and it's great! I totally recommend you get one, you'll be so trigger happy you won't want to stop taking photos. Though that is the problem, When I first started out I'd just take pictures of whatever I liked without thinking. I learned that it is important to think about composing your photo first: what and what dont you want in the picture. The rest like tones or colours, and other adjustments come after that. I don't consider myself a professional, far from it. I'm still learning and experimenting to see what's best.

I am actually going to get a new tripod so I can do more creative things like long exposures at the beach. I can't wait!

i totally understand what you mean. i am not at all well versed with techniques but i seem to have a natural hang for composition... because i take photos from a purely aesthetic sense... i'd like to learn the nuances of cameras .. perhaps when i buy a dslr.. i'm using an advanced point and shoot now.

oh good luck with the tripod... i'm thinking of getting the gorilla pod!!
