I got more than one actually.
If Batman, after he went through a series of events, killed the Joker in the Batmobile (while it automatically headed to a parking space near the Gotham City Police Station), unmasked himself inside it and then turned himself in, how would the Gotham police react? Where would the Gotham City police detain Batman? Who would Bruce Wayne (Batman) talk to on the phone after being contained in a cell by Gotham's Finest? What would the Bat Family’s reactions be if they knew that the Dark Knight himself had murdered the Clown Prince of Crime? When would the word get out that Batman, THE Batman, murdered Joker, revealed his secret identity and gave himself up to the police in the criminal underworld of Gotham? How would the villains react after knowing about those certain events that occured? Would any of the Bat Clan members survive from the fallout caused by Bruce’s actions? Could anyone else in the vigilante’s life survive from the whole ordeal too? And of course, how much impact would the big news effect not only the everyday Gothamites, but everyone else around the globe?
Note: This event can take place in almost any DC universe (from the Pre-Flashpoint 'verse, to the Post-Flashpoint U, etc).

Okay, now lets say that this were to take place on New Earth after Zero Hour, Infinite Crisis, but pre-flashpoint.
I'd assume the Gotham police would try to contain Bruce in one of the cells dedicated to holding more enhanced criminals such as Killer Croc, Bane etc. They would not want to take any precautions with the gosh-darn-batman lest he attempt to escape.
I feel many of the police officers reactions would range from shocked to intrigued, others might think that it is some practical joke a bored playboy like Bruce Wayne might do to get press attention. But I feel those closest to Bruce in the GCPD would not be as stunned as the rest as in numerous instances throughout various continuities it is indicated that Jim Gordon knows that Bruce is Batman to some degree. I feel that Jim wouldn't be too surprised that Bruce is Batman, he'd be surprised Batman unmasked himself and killed the Joker.
In regards to unmasking himself and turning himself in I feel that much of the Bat Family would be shocked and confused as to why Bruce would turn himself in. One major ramification it could have is that people like Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake,, could be easily identified as Robin. People would naturally be able to put two and two together and figure out that the kid(s) Bruce Wayne had taken under his wing had become Robin The Boy Wonder.
Now as for the idea of killing The Joker....
I'd feel someone like Bruce who in modern continuity hates the idea of taking another life would retreat into himself. I feel he would have a deep internal struggle with himself refusing to talk to anyone while in custody as he does have the right to remain silent. This would leave the GCPD to try and investigate Wayne Manor and try to get the specifics as to how Bruce Wayne is Batman. However the only comment Bruce would ever make to the police is that he wants his phone call. If Bruce were to talk to one person on the phone he would talk to Alfred and ask him to tell everyone "He's sorry." Bruce would feel sorry because he is human, he messed up, he killed someone, which in his eyes makes him no better than the man who murdered his parents.
I feel that everyone else (Bat-Family, police, media villains) would be split as to whether or not Batman should have killed the Joker.
The would be some people like Jason Todd and Barbara who would be happy that Joker would be dead, after all Joker "killed" Jason and did unspeakable acts to Barbara I feel that they would be happy that he would not be able to hurt anyone again. the only problem would be that they might have lost Bruce along with the Joker.
The public would also be somewhat split on the issue, I feel that my would have felt that the Joker should have gotten the death penalty years ago. Many would rejoice at his demise, while a select few would question it.
I feel the Justice League would be disturbed by Bruce's actions and try to intervene but Bruce would still clam up and rebuff them. Bruce is stubborn after all.
After everything has died down I feel that Jim Gordon would do what Bruce would have wanted, to take him in by the books. Except that Jim would have to resign as police commissioner because he would have been aiding a vigilante during his career. He would not investigate Dick, Tim, or Barbara out of respect for Bruce. It would be decided that Bruce would be eaten alive in a place like Blackgate Penitentiary, or Arkham, I assume he would be declared insane (He does dress up as a giant bat to fight crime after all) and locked up in solitary confinement in a psychiatric facility for treatment.
The problem with the Jokers death would be the absence of his chaos would allow for real crime to flourish once again in Gotham. Some villains would become much bigger crime bosses. There would also be a void to fill, as Gotham without the Joker would not be the same. I see a few different scenarios in this case. We would either get a bunch of people trying to be the next Joker or we would get some punk kids forming a joker gang much like in Batman Beyond. The problem being that with this new crime wave someone would have to stand up and be Batman, villains would be causing more havoc than usual without Batman and Joker to hold them back. Barbra would want to retire for the most part and be with her father, Tim might quit too. It is possible that perhaps some of the Bat Family would become disillusioned with crime fighting after watching Bruce break.
I feel that person would be Dick Grayson, even though he became Nightwing he would feel compelled to be back as Batman to honor his mentor. I feel he would try to take Damian under his wing as Robin and train him to be a future Batman like Bruce would have wanted.
Thus things would continue in Gotham.
I guess that my opinion of what would happen....
.....does that answer your question if I made any sense?

Teen Titans (2003) Episode Twenty Eight Questions: After Robin stolen his Red X belt back, how do you think the new Red X gained a new one despite the fact that Professor Chang is doing time in prison? Do you think X made a deal with the Brain where in, if the mastermind make a new belt for him, he would in turn steal some valuable technology that he can use for his own nefarious purposes?
