What I do in that Situation is take walks or listen to a lot of inspiring Music.

i know someone who is in the military 
and still chats in imvu or text while at work lol
and he get paid about 800$ per two weeks

but studying isn't so bad.
however studying just because you wanna avoid military
that's not a good enough reason.
because you see, you gotta think about your future job or career
and how you will manage when being independent
