Hi there, are you the same Gyakusetsu who used to be active on Evanescence reference and Evthreads?

Actually, yes... I am still an admin of EvReference, but I am rarely on there unless I get an email saying someone needs me

I was curious to know whether you are still an Evfan (since I hadn't seen you around in a long time). I noticed you made your own merch collection page on EvRef. I have my own Ev merch collection and just wondered if you still wanted to keep all your things. Specifically I'm talking about the original Ev choker. I've already collected several Ev necklaces and hoping to get them all someday.
I understand if you don't want to sell anything of course. Also wondered if you might know anyone else who is not an Evfan any more and/or owns the original Ev choker.

I am a fan still, but not really of their new stuff... just not as good anymore for some reason. I still keep up with edits on the EvReference, but since EvThreads died, I haven't really looked for an alternative community. Anyway, I do believe I would be willing to part with the choker. Let me find it in the meantime (it is packed away somewhere in my closet), but how much would you want to pay for it? I'm so out of the loop at this point that I have no idea what it is worth nor can I remember how much I paid for it.
Let me know if there is any other Ev stuff you would be interested in. I have a lot of singles and such that I could part with if I knew it was going to someone that would appreciate them.

Omg, I really didn't think you would say yes. xD
I haven't seen the original choker on ebay at all in the last few years. On your Evref page it says you got yours for $15. [link]
So it's up to you, I was thinking around $30 for it? Let me know when you've found it.
I'll have a look at the rest of the items on that page to see what I think about anything else. (Is there more that hasn't been added to the page?) I haven't collected any singles so far, just wearable merch really.

$30 sounds good. The company I work for has a shipping account that I can use, so you won't have to pay for that. I found the ABH era choker, but the other one is floating around in a different box. I'll let you know here soon when I find it.
As for other Ev merch, most of the shirts either died from wearing too much, or were sold (like the Origin shirt... that thing was an XL and I usually wear a S, so it made no sense to own, lol). I still have most of those posters, but I have moved so much that they're not exactly in the best shape.
Otherwise, just the singles are all I have left. I had a couple other things, but they got lost along the way, unfortunately.

That's great.
Do you still have Origin? I would love one but I'd have to save up a bit to be able to afford it. Looking through the rest of the list I may be interested in the Sweet Sacrifice maxi single and Missing European promo. I am not really sure how much they are worth though. Would it be ok to just pay for the choker first and then possibly in a couple of months a few of the CD singles? Would you also be able to take a picture of your things?

Nah, I sold Origin to a friend a while back. All the singles are still there, though.

Hey, did you manage to find the other choker yet?

I think the Missing single usually seems to go for around Β£20/$30, but I'm not sure about the Sweet Sacrifice single.

I'm not even sure what that means. It is what it is. Is what I don't like is models just standing there arms at their sides like you see everywhere.

Gyakusetsu In reply to DOUGography [2011-07-03 00:19:07 +0000 UTC]
I agree that the arms being down can be a bit over done, but when nearly 1/4 your photos show the arms-up pose with the armpits at the focal point, it gets less interesting than it could be (these two poses in particular seem to show up quite frequently: [link] [link] ). Not trying to tell you what to do here, just making a critical observation. Maybe I'm just noticing the armpits more than someone else would, howeverβto meβthe pose seems a tad unnatural and comes off as either defensive or reclusive depending on the model. I know I don't go around with my arms above my head unless something is stressing me out hardcore. Perhaps changing the vantage point up or down could make this pose more interesting than eye-level shots? Some of your most interesting pieces are just shot at unusual angles or with more than a simple close-up in the frame ( [link] or [link] for example).
On the whole though, your photos are fantastic! Beautifully emotive models and some very creative scenes. That's why I like watching your art here
