Happy Halloween to you too. I had a fun night of jello shots and tracking down little fuckers that took our whole buckets of candy outside.
My trench coat came just in time so my outfit was complete. i felt all badass and pretty. Hope you're still doing well and whatnot.. and I apologize for the little bout of frustration i had a few months back. just thought i'd mention that as well.

You ordered a trench coat? Mustสปve been expensive.. all I had was a crappy drawn on makeshift costume
Iสปm glad to hear you had a fun Halloween. I ended up having a pretty fun night despite having to work until 2am. Instead of jello shots I had a couple of minty blow jobs
- Itสปs cool. Donสปt even worry about it

was about $50.. got it off Etsy. I would have had the little blue mini jacket alphard wears but i think the trench coat looks much cooler. also i convinced my friend jessica to go as my Canaan for anime expo.. it's gonna be fun stuff.
still playing WoW? I quit for aion

I actually stopped playing back in August. I might pick it back up again after the semester is over.
I just heard about Aion today. I haven't looked into it though. How is it?

I love it.. but one thing you HAVE to know and realize when you play it is -- don't expect WoW because it's a different game completely. If you ever play and need some help with leveling or quests you can hit me up. My WoW toon was Keona on the server Bonechewer in guild Civilian. I think I told you awhile back but she's an elemental shaman.
on Aion I play a Spirit Master.. they're kind of like warlocks because they have pets and dots but instead of demons they are elemental pets and they evolve at their different ranks. Cap level is 50.. and the character customization is simply amazing. and later on you can customize your gear. It takes awhile to level in Aion but from 1 - 20 you can go PvP-free so it's a really nice start. It has a nice casual feel to me.. at least in my legion it is.

I'll keep that in mind. I might hold off on WoW for a while.. It's really time consuming. It would just suck dick to play casually.
Aion looks interesting, might just be another addiction : P I'll look into it though. If enough of my friends play I might try it out.

mmm same here. I haven't really had any inspiration to do anything since high school. I'm glad you're still around. Now I'll have someone to converse with on DA
Kanji is my worst enemy. I almost failed Japanese main track because they forced us to memorize an unreasonable amount every two weeks. Since then I switched to conversational, which is a lot easier. I just started studying for my oral which is tomorrow. procrastination ftw.
I'll do my best to translate : P I remember back when I had to ask for your help
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
y0sh1r0 In reply to HadenP6BH [2009-10-30 08:53:43 +0000 UTC]
In the beginning kanji does suck majorly... I remember bitching and moaning to my teacher in HS... constantly asking why I had to study kanji, blah blah blah. Now I geek out about kanji... and bitch and moan if it's only in hiragana/katakana. Kinda weird, huh?
So you're studying conversational Japanese more? Honestly it's really more of what you're going to use unless you want to work full time in Japanese society I think. Plus a hell of a lot less stressful. Since I've last talked to you, I have taken on some freelance interpretation work, and have dealt with anything from medical to mechanical, from asking for a taxi to interpreting for a beauty pageant. Every time I feel like my mind is being pushed to the reaches, which is fun... but also rather tiring and stressful.
Another great source to translate is manga... or whatnot that have the readings for the kanji and you can look up extras to check yourself. Also watching TV to work up your listening skills would be a great way to get ahead of the class. It's embarrassing to think about our levels as "foreigners" but working up from kiddy shows is a great feeling. Starting from the news can just be a major headache honestly.

lol @ "geeking out about kanji" I can imagine : P
Right now I'm ready to quit nihongo. I don't have the time and patience at the moment to excel. The pace is just too fast.
Seems to me you're doing quite well. congrats : ) It's better when you can mix a little stress with fun. For me, main track was pretty much all stress. At least with the conversational track I'm having fun.
At the moment I don't think I could translate anything other than my homework : P There's too much unfamiliar vocab. Then again I guess I'll learn if I have to constantly refer back to my dictionary.
note to self: watch more japanese TV

Yeah.... I easily geek out about things...;;; my current obsession is kanji that have easily mistaken readings. it's kinda stuff you might expect to find on a trivia quiz show or something... but not really use in everyday life. even with all this useless knowledge though... i still haven't passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (level 1). I just suck at tests.
I know what you mean about stressful. College level Japanese classes are not easy... and unless you have some strange closeness to pain... it can be anything but fun. I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying the conversational level Japanese class. It sounds like it's a bit more laid back pace... which is probably better learning environment.
The thing you learn about translating is that it's not so much what Japanese you know as... how good are you at referencing and what not to obtain a meaning. Hell... half the time I did the geeky stuff like read manga/scanlate/fan sub it was all about the online resources and what not that I could look up to help me out.
So... still... you never did answer my question. From the Japanese you said in the first response... it sounded like you're around Tokyo/Chiba? Is that true? If so, how long have you been there and how long are you staying? I plan on going to Tokyo in January to possibly meet up with someone for leads on jobs... and it'll only be like 4 days... but maybe we can meet up or something? I have a few other friends I plan on running into at that time.

Ah! I really don't have a place in Japan ^^ ; I was just randomly speaking- I was planning on going this December from the 27th to the 3rd of January, but I doubt it's gonna happen. I was supposed to buy my ticket two months ago, now I'm nearly broke. I can barely pay for my tuition. If I was in Japan I would've told you in advance for sure so we could met up.
Hope you're not too disappointed : P

Yeah.... Japan is getting really expensive now in terms of coming to visit from the states. It's also still expensive for me to fly to the states, but I feel like a rich man when over there. I'm glad you would have told me in advance if you were in Japan!
I was a bit surprised by the message... and kinda looked forward to the possibility. There's always a chance later though, right? (especially if I find a job here and don't have to worry about my Visa running out constantly)

Just think about it this way... you're 23 years young. You're not considered old until you hit 50 : P (I'm joking) As long as you keep mentally youthful, It'll show... or at least that's my philosophy - If I'm making any sense at all.. probably not. It's late

Yovela In reply to HadenP6BH [2009-10-27 11:41:46 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I still get carded for rated-r movies so it must show that i look young because i act all retarded and immature..
i'm serious when i need to be, though, and i think that counts for somethin'. and yes it is indeed late, sleep would be grand. i'll probably do that myself once i chin-up. What're you gonna be for halloween? i'm going to be Alphard from the anime Canaan.. trench coat and everything. she is a badass. only difference is she's more tan, tall, and has smaller boobs. i have the black hair and blue/grey eyes though. yay for parties.

HadenP6BH In reply to Yovela [2009-10-29 08:50:54 +0000 UTC]
lol I know what you mean. I get carded all the time.
Never heard of the anime, but from what I see.. pretty cool. You'll definitely be needing the trench coat for that getup. You'd be freezing without.
As for me, I'm still unsure about dressing up. I still have to decide on what I'm doing that night.
