There’s this problem I have been having for my art for years actually. The thing is it gets shoved to the side on here, and on DeviantART because when I upload art without showing it to someone it gets barely any notes which make’s me upset, and less motivated. When I upload it on DeviantART only one or three of my friends add it to their favorites leaving one to zero comments. I even told my friends this plenty of times, but all they keep saying to me is just be patient which I can’t anymore because this happens all the time.
I can’t ask people to please pay more attention to my art because I’m gonna get called an Attention Whore leaving me to the choice of just stopping because I can’t see a point of uploading art that gets shoved away.
I apologize if this sounds stupid, but really I don’t know what to do anymore about this… I can’t ask for people to please pay more attention can’t ask my friends to give me shout outs because no one’s gonna care… Not even my family cares…

I haven't been on this site for a long time.
I don't talk to anyone here nearly at all,
and clearly this is so since it took me quite some time to respond to this.
But lots of people feel the same way on this site as you. Even I have, on my other accounts. But there are different stages of this, and some get to the point where they realize friends don't even reach out to them until you reach out yourself. So to bring it down to the level of attention on artwork, well, it's a natural occurrence on this site.
So what I would recommend to you, if you still have this problem, is several options.
One is to throw out something so crazy, such as creating a new account where nobody knows you, and detaching anything of a real person from you from that account, and having a type of theme or story being the fictional owner of the account. Certainty nothing I've ever done or anything..~ But seriously, it can be a lot of fun. And those accounts tend to draw in attention from everyone, because, after all, curiosity killed the cat. The unknown is comforting.
Secondly, the other option is to simply make yourself believe that the publicity doesn't matter. Upload artwork and such for YOU, not for others. Create goals for yourself, and reach them. Say you'll make a new design each week, or a new storyline every other. Make your hobby for you, not for others. And then, the best of friends will support you when it hits their interest. And if it doesn't, put it places where people who like the concepts behind your art are.
