i somehow came on our talk about "fractal painting" and wanted to take a look again here... hmmm - you're not here anymore, what a pity...
i still appreciate that you didn't close your account as others have done before... i myself was on the edge of quitting at least twice already, haha...

well, i made this photo manip which i thought looked somehow painted and i dedicate it to you...

good to know, that you're not "out-sauced"...

Sorry, been a while since I last checked in here. I vaguely recall something about 'fractal painting', but not where to find it. I posted a blog entry some time ago about the subject [link]

The dedication is much appreciated, and I can see why you felt a resonance. The piece has a feel of mixed media visionary art - thick paint and something more solid all pulled in towards the centre to show some kind of minor deity/demon marshalling its forces!

haha, i'm not absolutely sure myself - it was about some "turner" and "rothko" fractals which i was fascinated of - you're welcome...

thanx for the link to your blog, i saw some cool stuff there... i bookmarked it and will look again closer...

thanx for taking the time to answer...

Ah yes, found it! Must try some more Turner style...

yes, i loved "your" turners...

btw. i just happened to see this one - brandnew on dA, haha...

so, maybe fractal painting is still coming...

Is there any way to edit the parameters without moving the triangles on the edit screen? As in, go in to type the parameters themselves? And how does one open multiple flames at once to set up a script? In the white bar on the left that shows which flames I can view in that one screen, it will only ever show me one flame file.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

IDeviant In reply to Dart-Frog [2013-01-21 15:07:21 +0000 UTC]

I'm unclear as to exactly what you mean, but I'll give it a shot. You can type values directly into the various fields in the editor tabs, plus you can (in theory) open saved parameters using a text editor and edit the XML-formatted parameters directly.

Regarding multi-flame parameter files, you just need to save your parameters to the same .flame file. Using the basic Save tool opens a dialogue window with 2 fields: 'Destination' is the actual .flame file and 'Name' is the name you give to each individual flame in that file. Once you've saved a few to a file, open it and you should see them all in the white area. Try a flame pack from [link] - if you can still only see one in a multi-flame file, then there's something amiss!
