I agree with silent reporting!
Whilst informing someone politely that they've broken the rules is one thing, the majority never want to be told they've done something wrong, and will resist, not listen, or be unable to understand.
There are too many people just screaming insults at those who steal, it's a waste of time imo.
However, I'm not in the habit of reporting either, I'd like to be but I'm not... the reason is this: [link]
This image has always been a favourite of mine, on Pixiv, so when I found it on DA I was upset, so I reported it and provided a link to the original. I felt there was more than enough common sense evidence that this person was not the original artist.
A year later I received a reply from DA telling me they wouldn't remove it unless the original artist asked them to.
...The original artist is Japanese, they don't have a DA account, regardless it's obviously stolen in the first place!
So I feel that DA will do nothing. I've been almost tempted to pretend to be the original artist, I mean, what are the expecting the artist to say?
I'm curious about what you think of this predicament, as truly I'd like to help against the ever increasing amount of stolen art here on DA.

did they really told you they would remove it only if the original artist reports it?
either something was wrong with the report or the admin who handed it had a bad day
as long as it is reported with the report button as Permission issues it should be removed (when itΒ΄s plainly stolen and not just traced)
I think I met that person too, the nickname seems oddly familiar
IΒ΄m not sure if pretending to be the original artist would be a good idea

I can give you the exact message I received:

it should not happen when is reported plainly stolen image and provided original art from pixiv (or any other page)

It's a shame it took a whole year to get to it though.
I think that DA should have volunteer mods for stolen art.
Volunteers go through reports like that and if they believe it's stolen, it then gets sent to an admin just to confirm it. Also reports should be sent to multiple volunteers in case one 'has a bad day'.
That way incorrect reports (where all of the volunteers marked it as incorrect) won't even need to be checked by an admin, and admins will only need to confirm what a volunteer already did, which saves them a lot of work and means they can get through much more reports...
Well, I'd tell DA this but I don't think they'd go for it (they've ignored almost every complaint or suggestion or report I've ever made unfortunately).

I was thinking exactly about the same Β΄volunteers checking for stolen art and then move it to adminsΒ΄ thing. Unfortunately volunteers canΒ΄t do a job for paid admins. Hell, I even suggested to Β΄payΒ΄ the volunteers with premium membership, but they keep saying it is not that easy.
Because of legal issues volunteers canΒ΄t really do the job for admins but for practical reason DA should use some people for small things about reports and whatsoever.
And deviantart is over a year and half behind of all permission issues reports

Its not bullying, its the rules. Its unlucky that you happened to get caught on your first day, but if you have any sense you will be mature about it, and not do it again. Harassing someone like this however can get you banned.

He has another account and I think he switched from this one to the other, saying ungrateful things to me and my stuff.

thats the charm of the internet - free speech. when you upload art you are going to receive some feedback and not everyone is going to be nice.
anyway - I canΒ΄t report it since I have no proof when all comments are hidden and I am not the injured party.
but admins are going to see your report and find out if the 2 account are operated by 1 person and decide if the comments are worth of banning/suspending from DA or they will tell you to block him.
but from what you wrote me I think they will tell you just to block the 2 accounts
