Just saw this show Max Steel on TV. Reminds me very much of Wildlight.
Only thing is Tammy and Christi are better.

OH hey...just seeing some of these older comments (that's what I get for falling off the radar for a few years). Β I'll have to check out Max Steel...I'm not familiar with it outside of a few commercials. Β There are a number of comic references that influenced my creation of Wildlight. Β I'll have to do a journal entry on that sometime soon

Essentially, the version I referenced was about a wise cracking biomechanical organism forming a bond with a young man who semed to inexplicably start to generate an alien energy that he could not control. The duo share a symbiotic bond where the machine (Steel) takes the energy the teen (Max) generates and uses it to build powerful exosuits for a variety of situations allowing them to fight evil. They can communicate mentally which often makes people think Max is nutty for seemingly talking to himself.
Major difference from Wildlight being that the genders of both AI and human are male, people can see Steel if he reveals himself, and the suit Max wears can never come off lest he risk an energy overload on par with a nuclear detonation and so disguises it using hard light holograms.

Ah. Β I'll definitely have to check it out.
One thing I've learn in the comic world...there's nothing new under the sun. Β I won't get into details...but one character I was drawing for years...I found out later that a major comic company had a character just like it.Β I never read that company's comics, so I know I never read that character before or got the idea from them. Β The comic line in question pre-dated my own, however, so I know they didn't steal it from me! Β (Because that's what ALL the large companies are trying to do). Β Crazy!

I hear ya about nothing being new. Everyone takes inspiration from other sources and runs with it. It is nearly impossible to have an original concept today. So many people with so many ideas that are so similar. And of course not just in media and entertainment but as well in politics and religious circles. Everyone is copying everyone else. Crazy indeed!

I just wanted to let you know that I am very glad to be officially a part of the discussions and movement on Cyberlight. Even if I'm not contributing art... it's wonderful to be able to contribute my experiences of God.
I pray that God continues to move and spread His vine through Cyberlight! I pray for His return and for the universal spreading of His Church as the testimony of Jesus. Praise the Lord that we have a place like Cyberlight through which to minister others and glorify Him!

The honor is ours. We are happy to have other siblings in faith sharing their thoughts and opinions. These are very, very important to our ongoing efforts to create excellent comics, art and stories for His Glory!

Wow! Thank you!!! Your kind words are very encouraging. I really appreciate it. My company moved me to Utah, and I got behind on comic drawing as I moved in... but we are almost settled down now and I'm getting back into the swing of things. This last webisode was a real cliff hanger!! I hope to hear more from you soon!

Absolutely! Yeah I was really praying for you and your company to be ok! God gave me some ideas for a christian manga, but I'm really praying on it. Because it's one of the things I really want to do in life. Inspire people with the truth, and make art and music. So Yeah it's awesome. I'm glad you all are back! Praise the Lord!!

Please read this short interview with a long time church veteran. Notice the answer to question #5. I believe you are going to see this more and more. This is what Cyberlight is based on... Everyone using their gifts to glorify God.

Thanks! We just put up webisode 62 yesterday. It's getting better and better. I look back on stuff I did even just a year ago, and think it looks silly in places. But, then again, I have always emphasized quantity over quality, with the idea that the first will eventually help the 2nd.

Whoa....I have to check on these comment doodads more often. Thanks for the comment about Wildlight. We're working hard to make it an ever better comic next year. I hope you get a chance to check out the whole comic at cyberlightcomics.com

Hey, thanks for the watch. I've checked out the cyberlight comics. And I have to say Wildlight is my favorite. You've got a really cool character there.

JCServant In reply to WalterReynolds [2008-08-24 17:43:40 +0000 UTC]
Thanks Walter. I have been away from that comic, and my other artwork for too long. Between college, and a four month relocation resulting in a move across the country, I have simply not given my artwork a lot of attention in the last year at all. I used to do a Wildlight update every month. Finally, as I settled down into my new house, I had to take it before God. The results can be seen in my latest journal entry "For the Sake of the Call."
You are always welcome to join the whole Cyberlight team on our bulletin board. We always love chatting with others about faith, art and whatever else comes to mind. Maybe you'll draw us some nice pictures or wallpapers sometime!

Hey, I'll may take you up on that offer. I'm going to be switching gears and posting up some of my own characters. I've been working on a spiritual based comic book. Your input and comments will be greatly valued.

Anytime. And, if you are looking for an outlet for those spiritally themed comics, consider Cyberlight. For over four years we have been publishing Christian comics on line and off line freely for both the artists, and the readers. You can find out more on our website. It's a great way to shine your light on the hill!
