Hey CromBomb, I am glad you like my work. For color I usually try to prioritize 1 or 2 colors overall and then let the rest be very desaturated.

I can totally see that! What I really want to know is if you go from black and white to color, or just jump straight into color.
There's a really popular technique that I keep seeing there people will make an almost complete black and white "value painting" which results in good composition, but the color overlay can look a bit muddy and lifeless.
Your colors have an almost tangible quality with a lifelike glow. That's why I'd love to see how you set up and rough out your paintings.
All this is just a nicer way of saying that I like your technique enough to want to steal it

In my thumbnail phase I will do some rough value studies, but when i start the final piece I will work straight into color. I like to build up my color using flats, multiplies and overlay layers before i begin doing final detail rendering.
