If you're gonna spend time in South Africa, head for Cape Town or Limpopo. Johannesburg is just like any other city in the world.

Never been to Limpopo. I used to surf Cape Town, a little bit south, can't remember the name. Those were the good 'ol days. Waiting on swells, swimming with great whites at 0400. Somehow I always managed to beat your coast guard to the gnarly waves before they get the shark warning out. Australia, Hawaii and South Africa are my favorite surf spots. Wish I could go again..
