Sorry but I don't take comissions either.

Thanks for asking though, it's nice to know that someone would pay for my art

Dear Bionicle fan,

I have decided I am going to do a BIONICLE humanized-Toa cosplay. That means I'd like to do all the Toa Metru (LHikan, Vakama, Nokama, Matau, Whenua,Onewa, Nuju), the Toa Nuva(Tahu, Gali, Lewa, Onua, Pohatu, Kopaka abd Takanuva), Toa Inika(not a for sure but most likely(Jaller, Hahli, Kongu, Nuparu, Hewkii, and Matoro), as well as the new Glatorians(Malum(maybe), Ackar, Kiina, Tarix, Gresh, Vastus, Strakk, Gelu and Mata Nui)
But I am having problems figuring out modern appearences for them all because I want it to be somthing any BIONICLE fan would think the Toa would look like as humans. Their hair is going to be the same color as their masks, their eyes(I may photoshop me/my friends eyes once we're done) none of us have the money to invest in contacts.
I hope to hear your feedback on this matter.
I will gladly credit anyone who offers their assistance for this cosplay^^

Apparently it's your DA birthday, i dunno what that means, but birthdays usually mean cake, so at least enjoy the idea of cake, as i can't get any to you right now

Yay! Hang on, does that mean... The cake is a lie?

Sorry, I had to.

Hi I was browsing through your bionicle section and I have to say very nice job. You achieve a level of complexity I find hard to get in the smaller characters. Please check out my gallery and comment on them. I could also use some tips possibly if you think my smaller stuff could use it. I really like your style on these. I know I have a few things that you will really like. Thank you.

As soppy as this may sound, I'm quite honoured that you complimenting me on my creations when I'd never be able to create something as amazing as yours in a month of sundays.

As for my methods, I usualy like to keep the initial build simple and bulk it out afterwards. Most of my creations use the standard arm and leg build seen in sets nowadays, this is mainly because lack the parts to make any decent alternatives. To make up for this I like to invent different ways of creating and attaching armour onto existing pieces. Just try sticking two, seemingly random, parts together and see what you get.

You can also try integrating standard lego into a MoC. If done right the results can be pretty amazing and it also means you have a wider range of parts that can be added to bulk up a model or help make intricate areas. I've never been able to pull this off too well, though.

I hope this helps you, at least in a small way. You definitely have great talent when it comes to large scale models and I think you could pull of some great small ones too.

WOW thank you for such a compliment. Sometimes I get the whole "wow that means a lot coming from you" kinda thing. Some people think I'm some great bionicle MOC maker, and I'm really not. I didn't just sit down one day and poof there's Mototaur, Ryakk, and Gravix(the third Colossal sized MOC I have, that's not on here yet). Its taken me many years to get to the point where I can build these type of things. Most MOCist build something then later take it apart, not me, I let my MOCs grow. I've had Ryakk for about five years now, and he originally was a kikinallo that I modified. I kept improving, kept going bigger until he is what you see today. Ryakk was my first colossus figure, mototaur is the third and Gavix is the second. I used a refinement process with these, and I do it to some degree with the smaller ones to. I keep the good designs I make, then improve on the bad ones until they are good or work the way I need them to. I have a picture of Ryakk and mototaur, as well as some others as they used to look in 06. You'll see that some things are the same, and that other things are drastically different. So I'm not super skilled, I just have been doing it for a while. I really can't just sit down in a day and make a really good MOC. There's really no need for you to feel honored. I don't consider myself any better of a MOCist than you. There are MOCist who I consider myself better than, but they are the ones who don't really do anything innovative with bionicle, not like you and I.

I really like your style. I like that you find unusual ways to make these pieces fit together. I try to do that and I can to some degree, but you are really good at it. I think if I could use your technique on my MOCs that would be incredible!

The bigest drawback to having the big guys, is no one looks past them to see the smaller stuff. I have more smaller guys than big ones, and no one ever comments on my character design for the smaller stuff, not like they do the bigger ones. I know the big stuff is great I don't need reassurance on them, its the smaller guys I really want the feedback on and to get all the detailed opinions and compliments.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! (sorry this's a bit late!)

Also...
Check it out dude! I now have an avatar! (albeit a poor one) but i think it's recognisable as a wolf skull in front of a blood red moon? I hope?

Thanks, don't worry about lateness!

And there is no way that avatar is poor, it's by far better than mine. It is, in fact, awesome.

Hey big K, you remember the RP that never went anywhere on Furtopia? I was thinking of adapting the world and characters (obviously not the ones belonging to other people, but the ones belonging to me) into a separate story. Of course it won't come until a long time from now.. but what do you think?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Khanco In reply to shadowcatGC [2008-06-14 09:58:20 +0000 UTC]

Was that the one with the kingdom ruled by an evil warthog guy? I'm not good with remembering these things.

But I don't see why not. From what I've read you're pretty good at fiction. I say go for it!
