because they took so much from David Bowie without permision and if they were going to do that they should of gotten permision and done it right.

But they mention in the beginning of the movie that it is purely fiction (or something of the sort), but still it's 'common knowledge' to know that they clearly took from Bowies life story.
I donno... Do you have to have permission to make an personal interpretation of someones life? Don't you have some kind of right to let your imagination take you away to extreme heights?
They made up Brian Slade, and I somehow think they 'only' took inspiration from Bowie. I dont see Brian as David or the other way around, I think they made up Brian so unbelivebly good I see him as a star of some kind of alternate universe.
If you look at the movie, it's somewhat like a fanfic.
And it's ok to make fanfictions right? But making one from someones life... I donno if it's a diffrent thing or not, since many books are a diffrent version of someones life.
