Your journal... I could not agree more. Bush is an embarassment to the US, and all the people who continue to back him are fools. Anymore they simply stand and scream that if we don't back Bush than we are traitors. And I am not kidding. Luckily though the people over here are getting pretty fed up, and they are backing him into a corner and making him fess up to being the mass murdering, egotistical, self-centered, bloodthirsty, meglomaniacle son-of-a-bitch that he is.
If I didn't fear the Dept of Homland Security, and the fact they can come and lock you up for no reason, refuse to let you call anyone to tell them where you are or even talk to a lawyer, and have done so to many, many, many people I would say more about how I feel about Bush.

skulpturro and StrawberryP0cky i think that you have said enough to each other on my page. i appreciate you, skulpturro, for taking so much time to try and fight my battle. StrawberryP0cky if you had a problem with his 1st remark then you should have addressed it on his site on yours instead of turning this into a comment argument. i could have explained myself or have given excuses, or whatever, but i didn't feel the need to live up to anything for you. i'm trying to be very calm about things and i hope that this is the end of the argument.

I like your open eyed view on what's going on, somewhere between 25 and 35 most people either become too bored or whipped to care. I love your boldness, your submission says it all. Anyone who can laugh at Michael Jackson and ignore our country's committing GENOCIDE and wiping out two entire countries and their cultural heritage under the guise of anti-terrorism should sit on your finger and spin! (kinda gross, but so is levelling a city full of citizens from hundreds of miles away with cruise missiles). Keep on rockin', I like your attitude! Thanx!

I thought this was called DeviantART. Your gallery is just full of pictures or collages...and they're JUST pictures. Nothing super fancy, nothing that captures feeling, nothing really even interesting. It just looks like you got a digital camera, took pictures of yourself, and put them online so people could look at you. You look more vain than artistic.
This is sounding ruder than I wanted it to, but I'm not really up for candy-coating at the moment, so you'll have to forgive me.

Just collages and pictures. You're right, what's art about that. You might want to take that comment over to the photography department. Art is by definition self expression, in what ever media one chooses. And if you look again ay this site, there's a hell of a lot of expressing going on. You might want to find an art group where you have to draw Tippy the Turtle to get in if stuff like this is too difficult for you to grasp. And my style has nothing to do with this artist's, I just thought the body of work and the statements she made definitely warranted her being here. I'm sorry you don't see that.

There's a lot of stuff that floods DA every day that I don't consider art, I don't even know where to even draw the line anymore. She did , however, seem to make more of an attempt than most at some social commentary and manipped a couple of her photos, so I give her some props. I hope there's room for all kinds of expression here, even if we don't appreciate levels of technical skill..

I suppose you are right. I'm still new to DA, and I was browsing through all these wonderful photos and drawings, then I come across what appeared to be a rather plain gallery with pictures of the artist. The artist I was most impressed with, photo-wise, would have to be this 15 year-old Russian guy by the username of Strangel ([link] ).
But yeah, I suppose you're right. I could have looked around a little more, or kept my thoughts private in a note.

Everybody has the right to their opinion, now I feel bad for yelling at you. I know what you mean about some of the galleries here, but i can tell you this.. none of my best friends with the exception of two are spectacular artists! Me included! So if you're just looking for art, say what you want. If you're looking for companions and confidants, be careful!!

As far as I see it, if you feel bad, then that says you didn't mean to be a jerk, so all's well.
I posted a message to Lux *before* talking with someone else. Basically, it's been boiled down to the fact that I look for originality and not emotion in a picture, mostly because I couldn't care less about emotion when it comes to looking at art. I'm an engineering major, so I'm more left-brained than most artists, so things like emotion are wasted on me. I prefer originality.
So the artist and I talked about it, and I want to try to see pictures for their emotional content as well. I have no problem expressing or understanding emotion, I just never looked for it in art before.

First of all, at no point was I even remotely a jerk. I don't need things to be well. I believe that title would be more applicable to the individual who stumbled into a gallery with admittedly skewed perspective and proceeded to attempt to squeeze an artist's works into their definition of "original". And you can leave that left/right brain thing in your box of excuses for someone else. I have Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Chemistry and have worked as a Government Chemist for the past 15 years. This is a community of thousands of individuals, each falling onto the spectrum of hemispheric dominance in a different place. My advice, should you be mature enough to actually make it to the end of my diatribe, is to relax! See a movie. Walk barefoot on the beach. Venture out into the big scary world and Breathe!! And leave your mind open and your preconceptions at the door!!

You know, people think differently, and people have different opinions. I'm sick and tired of getting yelled at or insulted by random people because I don't think exactly the same way as they do. I don't see anything spectacular or remotely artistic about Lux's work, and that's MY opinion. If you think that it somehow makes me close-minded and unable to appreciate art, then that's YOUR opinion. I left the comment to LuxLuther. If she has a problem with it, then she can tell me. I don't need random defenders telling me off because I don't think exactly the same way as they do. You should be mature enough to realize that not everyone will agree with you. I'm not hurting anyone, so just lay off already.
