Aah, I see. That's unfortunate. I am so very sorry to hear that.Β
I wonder if you give him a call and let him (or his secretary) know that you are going through a crisis, maybe he can see you sooner? Most doctors have provisions for patients who are going through a crisis.Β

It's tough because he is an hour away and Roth works weekdays from 7-3:30pm and the office closes at 5pm. We also have to have 30 bucks upfront for copay which is tough and Roth can only get 32 days off a year and only earns 2 a month and has to request days off a month in advance.Β

Geez... that's not a lot of room to play with at all. I am sorry to hear that.Β

Here, how about this?Β
There are some mindfulness exercises and mental exercises that people do when they feel anxious and depressed. If you can't see your doctor very often, maybe you can consider doing some of these exercises at home on your own to help yourself filling in the gaps. It's not perfect, but it might help a little.Β
This is a page with apps that help with people with depression:Β www.healthline.com/health/depr…
And here are some mindfulness exercises:Β www.livingwell.org.au/mindfuln…
www.pocketmindfulness.com/6-mi…

I hope these helps!Β

Thank you for all of this, already have a few apps on my tablet. Β But more info and recommendations for you is helpful. Β

I actually am on bed rest right now. The muscle that goes down my left shoulder blade is strained and spasming Β and on double does of inflammatory(Meloxicam), muscle relaxer(Baclofen), and new pain killers(Tramadol). And added Tonic Water because it's the only thing that helps me sleep without spasms. My lower back has been messed up for months and this new pain from pulling it in the shower I believe is making things unbearable. When I wake up I am screaming, after a few hours the pills wear off and the spasms get so sever and make me scream. I wish I had a pump of pain killers in my back right now. So sorry for being gone.Β

Also love Otto, told Roth about him and showed him. Β He wants to do the Rp so maybe we can start this Weekend. Ash wants to join but it's all up to you. Β I hope you are doing okay too my friend.

SinistrosePhosphate In reply to Maivory [2016-06-03 00:22:11 +0000 UTC]

You are more than welcome. I am glad that I can help, even in a small way.Β

I am sorry to hear that you are on bed rest right now. I hope you'll get better soon! Bed rest is not a natural way for the human body to be, so staying in bed is only a temporary thing that we shouldn't do for long. You mentioned tonic water... this reminds me of something. I had a patient who suffered from very bad spasms in her legs. They were so bad that she could not sleep at all. But I heard of a home remedy from the long-distance running people that I recommended to her. She found it helpful. So maybe you might find it helpful as well. The remedy is relatively simple. In a jar of pickles, there's usually some of the pickling juice left (also known as brine). A tablespoon of the pickling brine is supposed to help the muscle spasms to relax. The downside is that it will temporarily increase your blood pressure, so it's not something to be used on a regular basis. But it's worth a shot.Β

Glad to know you guys liked Otto. I am definitely open to starting an RP. And if Ash wants to join in, tell her that she's got the go-ahead as well. The more the merrier, I say. Now, I am not sure how the logistics of something like this will work. But if you guys have prior experience, you can lead the way and I will follow. How does that sound?

I am going to make an appointment with a back specialist. Β I need an MRI. Physical therapy is not working besides some electro therapy on my back. Β My lower back is to the point I can no longer walk or stand. She told me to push and in 6 months it made it worse. Now I can not stand or walk for more then a minute before it goes into extreme pain. If I try to push I begin to shake, sweat, and pass out. I can not take a shower anymore but still keeping clean but I can't do anything, not even cook. It use to be 15-20 minutes 6 months ago, now its 1 minute. Baclofen is not helping neither are nerve pills and inflammatory. Β She won't give me pain pills and keeps saying I need to push. I can not, it's so bad. Even sitting hurts. I am crying, I am in pain all the time, and there is nothing to make it feel better. I even turned to smoking weed to help but it relaxes me but still not my back. I need a doctor to take this pain seriously. I can barely sleep or live.Β

SinistrosePhosphate In reply to Maivory [2016-07-08 02:10:55 +0000 UTC]

I am so very sorry to hear about what happened. Now, an MRI may not be the answer to your problems. After all, it's nothing but a fancy way to look into your back. It's great with checking out disk problems and nerve entrapment, but if that is the case, we are looking at surgery to fix this problem. It's definitely not an ideal situation.Β

The physiotherapist is not always fully qualified to treat back problems specifically, either. Sometimes "just push" does make things worse. I think it's a good idea to see a specialist, but definitely don't hold your hopes up for an MRI. A picture is only as good as the story it tells and what can be done about it. But other than pain medication, physio and rest, there may be other things that can be done. It's a bit tough to say what they are without looking at you or your back, but that's why there are doctors. Going somewhere to get a second opinion is a good idea.Β

I'm sorry to hear that your back is still not better. I hope you'll feel better soon!

Roth is going to try to get me a pain management doctor. He has been talking with people at work and the feel so bad for me. It started out of no where and now I can't do anything. Some pain killers may help and a Mri would put my mind to rest. Read online about spurs touching nerves and makes me think it may be something on a nerve since no muscle relaxer helps not even some super strong ones.Β

SinistrosePhosphate In reply to Maivory [2016-07-09 02:21:18 +0000 UTC]

Aah, that's a good idea. Pain management folks can be pretty specialized. And the last time I talked to one, he said they can sometimes do injections in specific locations in order to take the pain away without you having to go on medications. I think that's a great idea.Β

Honestly... I feel bad for you, too. I wish I can do something for you from here! Please keep me posted. And if there's something I can do, let me know!

I am now looking for a dreadful manual wheelchair just so I can get out of the house more often. I don't want to be in one permanently but just to help me go shopping again would be nice.

SinistrosePhosphate In reply to Maivory [2016-07-14 03:04:54 +0000 UTC]

I've spent time in a manual wheelchair as well. It's Β not a walk in the park, that's for sure. And since there's usually very little support on one of those things, you really do just sink right into it. It can be tough. But then again, if it gets you up and going around, then maybe it's not too bad. It's a temporary relief, let's put it this way. And in your case, any temporary relief is probably going to be nice.Β

I certainly hope that you'll get to see the specialist soon!Β

I thought of a cool idea for Pearl, you see. I hope to surprise you!Β
And yes... expect it in the mail in a bit! (If I post it tomorrow... it should be there next week?) Sorry, but Canada has this Civic Holiday over the weekend, so a lot of places are closed today to make up for it. it's silly. But please be patient with me!
