Thanks for the fave! What did you like about the SLS Langley, if you don't mind me asking?

Ah I see now it's one of mattplogs ships.Β Well I generally like that style done in lines, but I faved without reading the description.Β
I have read it now and it's pretty cool. Always loved stories of evolving AI, long gone civilizations that leave functioning tech behind. The only critique is that the AI seems to "quickly" gain human attributes and desires though of course due to the length of the text is understandble.
I'm nothing of a writer, but I have a story cooking in my head for sometime and I want it to involve sentient AI, but I find it difficult to avoid the tropes and stereotypes already established. Ideally I would like it to seem more alien, but in time gaining more of a human side due to ..."happenings"

Thanks for the critique! I know it seems rushed in the description text, but it's a much longer period in my story, as Langley spent over three centuries fruitlessly searching for the Star League after gaining sentience, slowly evolving into his current state over time. In the beginning, the drone was simply operating off old protocols and directives, but was forced to adapt for survival, to simply keep operating. By 3150, he was in terrible condition, but was a lot more 'creative' then he'd started out as, having made up his own strategy and tactics to keep up with changing times. He's been all over the Inner Sphere and the Periphery in his journeys, wandering through all four Succession Wars, the Clan Invasion, and even the Jihad. Hence the reason Lloyd and Jielong's kids use him as an info source for school history reports--he's experienced it!
And thinking of your story--write it down! I'd love to hear about it, and that's how this all started for me.

I see there's a lot more detail in that world. You should definitely write a book and at the very least self publish it. There are few things that live on after ones life and books are good at doing that.
I'd love to write down my story, but it's like I have a lot of seemingly cool ideas in my head, but when I start writing, it all turns to crap and I get frustrated and stop.

Overdrive UniverseHey guys. This has been an idea since the beginning of the group. The creation of a universe/background/story to whichΒ Β people could add spaceship designs, mecha, machinery architectureΒ Β even written stories all based on this background.
Here is the rough draft of that idea, the Overdrive universe. I hope to hear your ideas, opinions, comments and critique.
Background:
History:
Between the years 2125 and 2270 (Age of Desperation), Earth was gripped by terrible problems caused by climate change and over population. This was a time plagued by extreme political and economical instability, famine, water shortages and frequent civil wars. This period marked the disintegration of all the major states that had been ruling the world for the past 200 years. Many countries were created and destroyed and for a time there was no political organization at all on great swathes of territory like most of the African, South American and parts of the Asian continents. Out of the popu

I love your muscle cars odd to find them made in electric I always figured a biofuel like those dudes in Texas that have this hydrocarbon sponge would replace gasoline ICE or do the HICE stuff.

10 plus years ago when I made most of these cars i was on a site for car designers, but amateurs too, Local Motors, and they would have challenges for designing various vehicles and you'd need a brief about the vehicle. That made me think about my cars as if they would exist some time in the future and would be used for many years. The trend toward electric was already visible, but there were few cool electric cars then and non considered a muscle car so that's why I tried refining that concept.
