I really love how clean and crisp your avatar looks. Most avis tend to look blurry. What software did you use to make it?

I commissioned my current avatar from Aelith-Earfalas
I think the clearness comes from not so much how the animation itself was made, it's more the size and the dimensions of the file you upload. DeviantArt's old/classic version only lets you upload avatars that are 50x50 in dimensions and max 15kB in size. When I uploaded my current avatar I switched to the eclipse version first and then uploaded the original 100x100 (17,6kB) sized file and then switched back to the old dA layout ('cause I still prefer to use that one)
The key thing is to always upload your avatar while the eclipse layout is turned on and make sure the image size is big enough, dA automatically resizes the avatar when you switch between the layouts but the image stays clear even when shrunk into the 50x50 version for the old layout, which is awesome.
