everything ive looked up in google says to extract everything to a new folder using something like winzip and to look for the appropriate executable in there, but i dont really know if thats the solution you're looking for

I mean I'll do it but what worries me is that what if it royally screws up my game somehow, I'm sorta halfway in the game

Tho could be more specific when you say

"look for the appropriate executable in there" you mean shove it in a proper folder or section that will open?

i think i may have given you bad instructions because literally all the things i'm finding assume that your emulator can't actually open .RAR files at all

i guess it'd help me if i knew what you were trying to do exactly

Basically what I'm trying to do is find a way to convert the RAR into something the PokeGen program can handl

When I try to open the game on it, it says it doesn't support the file and its size which makes me think that perhaps it's too big and the program just doesn't work with that

Oh I regret not testing that thing with PokeGen the moment I downloaded it XD

closest thing i found to what you're tryin to do is this save converter: www.shunyweb.info/convert.php

it doesn't look like it has .DSV as an option but from what i understand pokegen should also support .SAV files, which this thing has a lot of options for. if that doesn't work then ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don't fucking believe this but

I actually got the shit to work on my own, like IDK how the fuck I did it

I was screwing around with it and realized that if I saved a game from a state, I could convert it to a DSV from there and Pokegen could work with it then


but the problem was that, it wouldn't appear as the main file and I'd had to open the actual game and open that saved state and it was tedious as I'd have to save, resave that state and repeat opening the actual game and that's just too much work

so I thought, "can I override it?" and make that state the actual Game State, so I tried that, accidentally wiped out my save state and basically went to the beginning of the game which scared the hell out of me

But I went back again and like I said, IDK how the fuck I did it but when I reopened, I was back to where I was in the game, (Round the 5th gym) and I tried out PokeGen again and made an Abra, I opened the game and checked the PC and

The Abra was in the PC, THE. ABRA .WAS. IN. THE. PC.

The file of the game still says it's an RAR, least the when I go to "Recent Rom" which is weird

I'm so confused but, hey I got the game to work with Pokegen

I did so much that, I really don't know what I did but my best guess was that, I did went to "import backup" and maybe that switched out the game's insides but the outside still says RAR, I now also have a shitton of save states that IDK what I'm gonna do with, but I a'int gonna mess with that  

3rd time, IDK what the fuck I did but, I guess just fiddle around til you get it work
