Nooo!~ The cake doesn't smell! It's specially made to last yearrssss!~ It's Fruit cake, and we had to soak the fruit in alcohol for like a week or two so it'll last longer, and ALL the decorations were made of either almond icing, white icing, royal icing, or molding paste, so it's compltely edible, Though I'm not sure I'd ever want to.
