....i didn't want to do my homework...<.<  and i've had these ideas for a while now. so i just though, "why not" and drew and did my homework at the same time.  I'm just really happy they're not horrible looking because i've seriously not drawn anything for a freaking long time.

I very much liked it. There's some nice humour here and there (I liked the part about the glass especially),

Jason's ongoing concern over the speech and his continuing disbelief concerning events, does a great job at humanising him. His role as provider in what appears to be a nuclear family, I'm not sure about, but I remain confident you'll be able to make it relevant sooner or later.

Description is a little sparse, but that suits the piece (and the sleepy protagonist) well.

Overall, its very good and I eagerly await the next chapter!

um, I'm trapped in a prose RP and it has a monopoly on my creativity. www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?583993-Arc-5-(Continental)-Hearts-Minds-and-Souls I'd try and quit, but as of right now I'm commanding the remnant armies of Hyrule and i'm one of the last remaining people not controlling a ninja and/or a wizard...

Plus I'm at work developing background material for said RP. docs.google.com/document/d/1MO… I have to put an Inquisition into the Zelda story and aesthetic, without automatically making them the bad guys or a further excuse for someone to make their character a magic ninja. (I didn't have a problem with high-skill assassin characters or characters with access to magic before i started contributing to this RP - it's ruined me )

Work is also taking a fair amount of my time, but generally it's because my creative energies are being diverted and siphoned... I'll see about posting a thing or two fairly soon tho.

Life is being kinda mean ;3; been on disability thanks to a fall at my school 2 years ago and me reviving 2 herniated discs because of it ;3; but it has gotten better ^^ But now I'm battling bronchitis, and that's fun :T But despite that, I'm good :3 fast recap on me since last we talked. yeah, it's been a rough time ;3; Well that's awesome, congrats on the new job.

Well...it's...just starting ;3; that's the shape, it's brand new, haven't gotten anything really yet except the actual group, the Headmistress's design, and the school's handbook. 

Well, for students, the age bracket is kinda insecure, since some people some up with crazy high ages for characters that look like teens and such. So for students is basically like child-teen age range. And teachers are young-old adult. Basically just what would make sense in a school roleplay.

Basically a medical student with healing powers (he had the powers so he went for the education), who has some form of family connections to at least one crime syndicate. Got a teaching slot open then? He's likely to be of a relatively young age, with more attitude than expertise. Most likely a Student Doctor, but that's liable to change based on the type of setting you're working with. I can't guarantee he won't try to build a cartel out of his students too

patents~ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patent Large companies, especially those with equally large competitors, get Intellectual Property rights on everything. Procter & Gamble even has a patent on the act of pushing a pin through the bottom of a laundry-detergent tablet...

Healing would do fine. Also spell casting (but not Adv. spell casting) if that remains available, but oherwise he'd be an assistant spells teacher. He might even help out in mathematics, if Bloodwing feels the need to teach stats...



I'll have a shot at the application then~ initial application will be purely text-based mind.

Well all classes are in need of teachers, so if you think he could fit into more than one, that's fine o.o And the Mathematics class is supposed to touch on multiple different branches of math, and stats are definitely one of them, so... o.o

References just mean has the character ever taught before, or is it the first time? Doesn't really matter either way, it's just for the hey of it You would place an image of the character onto the actual Application in the box labeled "images" o.o

basic comments - i like it. Charles is a great character just to watch, and you've done some interesting things in this piece with his methods and end goal interacting. The 'talking sword' trope is normally hard to do without looking cheesy, but you're approaching it well enough for me now.

From a contest perspective, having Charles' dominant hand &/or arm inoperable is going to be very interesting...

Silence is looking interesting. It knows what's going on, at least more than is common for those assembled, and wants Charles to take precautions against the threats he simply doesn't care about. How he gets along with it in later rounds, especially if its motives cross his directly, is going to make good reading.

And my favourite part would be: "" and the paragraphs surrounding it. After so long not thinking of or looking at GtS (will return to my next bit soon, worry not), I'd forgotten a little of Charles' specific character and motivations. That part of their conversation highlighted it for me, and in a way that holds narrative weight~

Hopefully he will... btw, part of the backstory I've sorted out for Belson & co. is their people's medical technology, which includes flash-cloning specific limbs and highly adaptable grafts. With the right gear, one of their medics could simply hack off his arm and replace with a new one, all in one operation. Without the right gear, Ward would want to try anyway

Glad you find it interesting! I think you'll like what I have planed for these two^^

That part was probably the part I wanted to write the most here, and in general really, a line that pretty much bring Charles's character to the spot light. It places Charles in a very exact spot on the "protagonist morality" scale, that is a very self serving anti-hero/villain that has a very specific goal in  mind, and will stop at nothing and stoop to any low to achieve it. Everything and everyone else is either a means to it, or in the way, the Reapers and their grand sinister plan included.

I see Belson and co. to be the default "Good  guys" in GtS, I.e. they are the only ones here not trying  to a achieve a personal/morally ambiguous  goal (that is, attempting to avoid a war they knew they can't win) As opposed to the morally grey Vanessa and Charles, Charles being the lighter shade than Vanessa in one respect(she wants to find Philip and kill him, he wants his wife back.), and darker in another (She suspects something is up and doesn't like it, he knows something is up and is willingly helping it along because it is helping him win). I think the three of us (you me and piscies) created a very interesting and varied main cast, no?  


And as for Ward and her trying to help Charles *rubs hands evily*...I'll consider it. hehhehehe.......

Knowing you (and your writing), it's going to be awesome~

Thinking about it, the only one of mine that I'd say was laible to perform true altruism is Hetsai, since she's actually willing to take the time out of her day to help people (then again, this is someone who considers weapons maintenance to be strictly 'me time', so each to their own ). Belson has his objective and isn't afraid of accumulating acceptable losses, somethign that isn't likely to show up in GtS but might anyway. Ward is, well, Ward of the Chocolate Sprinkles, and Xerin is too insular to attempt to win 'good guys' status on his own.

Ilya though, he's a wild card in this sort of thing. He's been voluntarily brainwashed to help perform his duties, and besides he genuinely wishes to be the good guy in any situation he's in, but his first loyalty is to Fleet and Crown and he might just pick the right moment to go all Machiavellian on us.

And beware acceptign any help from Ward. Her technical ability is limited only by her attention span, and you never know how the operation might end...

Of course I doubt that would stop Ward from bugging him to let her try...for three hours at least.

I'm guessing her aforementioned "no more than three shots of whisky" rule she mentioned to Charles came from that.

.....I'd ask how you can possibly blow up a tank with chocolate sprinkles, but I'm sure Ward would find a way...were she properly plastered. And/or bored.
