Hey, I'm currently in the process of making a series of Legend of Zelda cosplays. The one currently giving me the most grief is, of course, princess Zelda for my sister's costume. I found your pictures while looking up ideas and you obviously know what you're doing. Any advice you could possibly give me would be much appreciated.

I'm so sorry not to have been able to get back to you sooner! I do have a few pointers to share. Keep in mind my ideas are not the best or most educated ways but merely the ones I have found to work the best. Good luck!
*The skirt needs to have a lot of fabric to get all of the folds in it so I suggest a circle skirt. Sewing a horse hair braid into the hem helps hold it stiff and exaggerate the folds as well.
*When sewing the upper part of the dress to the skirt make sure to add some darts to make it more form fitting. When you add the zipper (and I haven't tried this yet) put it into the back of the dress, straight down the middle. This way the neck opening can be made much smaller and more accurate. This may or may not work but is one of my ideas for when I remake the dress. I originally put the zipper into the side of the dress, which meant the neck opening when unbuttoned had to be large enough to fit my head through.
*The dark pink part looks lovely when attached via the armor. This seems to be the most accurate mode of attachment. I used velcro strips to do this.
*The stripes on the skirt can be done in many different ways. I did mine with ribbons. When sewing the ribbon on, only sew on the top edge (and not on the other edge) because the curvature of the circle skirt will create puckering if you try to sew on both edges.

I found my way through the skirt and upper part before now but am actually about to tackle the armor tonight along with the mantle and pants for my Gannondorf costume. The tips were a great help and I will definitely let you know once I have some pictures uploaded so you can see.
