# About me
Ok. It has come to my attention that this shit needs updating. I was a nurse in the OR. And then I got bumped up and was given a nice desk at the Administrator's office of the hospital I was working for... and then comics happened!I left the hospital job to focus more on doing comic work--mostly coloring and doing cover art. Currently, I am working with Omar Spahi on a book called XenoGlyphs. It's already out and about so check it out!
Last March, Marvel picked me out of a bunch of very talented folks to be a colorist. For what project? I still don't know. When? Not sure either but they had me work on samples for an Uncanny X-Men book that featured the Avengers and the Fantastic Four (lineart by Terry Dodson).
Now I'm readily available for coloring jobs and cover art projects. Kindly browse my gallery and drop me a note if you wish to avail my services and want to see my rates.

Hi Peejay, You need a job? I need a colorist, Β penciler and letterer.Β
First I want to say I'm a big fan of your work. I'm finishing up a comic book script and I want to chat with youΒ about possibly working together. I really think it has the potential of being a great comic.

Hey there Peejay
Like you Iβm a digital-colorist (and traditional-inker) for hire. My dream is to work for Archie comics but Iβll do anything thatβs handed to me. One of my issues I have is coloring MY inks, there not dynamic and Marvel based like your works. Will coloring the inks of others, with their permission of course, improve my coloring portfolio?
Iβm told that I need to slow down with my drawing because Iβm fresh out of high school and about to start college but so many people have more skill than me and I won't stop until I reach the level people like you are on.
Thank you for your time.

Hi there!
Sorry for the late response.
Will coloring the works of others improve your skills? YES, DEFINITELY. The thing about being a colorist is that you will not color your own lines unless the company hires you to illustrate the whole thing from pencils to colors. You'll need to learn to adapt to the styles of different artists that you may team up with in the future. Besides the fact that you'll learn a lot by doing this, having the ability to work on lines by different artists will show that you have the range that most comic companies are looking for. Also, when submitting colorist portfolios, the talent scout will want to see your colors on a professional's lines because any detail errors caused by the lineart will be attributed to you if you colored your own inks.
It's a given that many people are better than us because this is a very competitive industry. Whenever you feel satisfied with your level is when you'll start to stagnate and be less creative--or at least I personally think so. So KNOW that there's always competition and use it to further be inspired to get ahead of everyone.Β
Don't aspire to reach my level because I want to be better everyday. Compete against me much like I try to respectfully compete with my idols and you'll find that you're better than you thought you were--this is something I learned later on and it helps me keep my sharpness with my craft.
I hope this helped. Good luck!
