That is nicee

The season Finale was really enjoyable for me.

That Grogar is Discord was a real surprice for me.

Mostly the ending where every allies they got along the searies came together and helped the 3 generations of the Elements to defeat the trio.

And the Epiloge Episode made me tear up a little, but knowing that Equestria has a good Leader/Leaders and a great Future makes me happy. i am glad that the show ended liike this,

Maybe the Trio gets reformed later offscreen.

I'm much the same... with what actually  happened.
Although the whole two parter was going to be much different in my head.

Like what  i expected to happen was:

Grogar returns to his lair. The three  villains reveal  they have the bell and attempt to use it but fail.  Grogar takes the bell and mind warps them to follow his every whim. 
He the uses the bell to release all his other monsters from Tartarus. And make a massive army. I was expecting the whole Tirek VS Pillars fight to be a bit more big and impactful. same goes for the fight between Chrysalis and Starlight.

Then Grogar himself confronts Discord his biological son, The royal sisters who were the daughters of Gusty the Great and Twilight and they have their own fight.
Grogar finally removes all of Discords magic VIA  his  bell and Discord disappears for good.

All seems lost until the army of good  guys appears just like in the actual episode. They have a bit of a fight scene.

And in the end the villains are finally defeated once and for all. Grogar is turned to stone similar to his son and the other monsters and villains are put back into Tartarus.

And then keep the final episode exactly as it is. Minus the Discord scenes.

I just thought that to make the final two parter really stand out... someone would have to be gone.... not die necessarily but just.... be removed form the equation permanently.

But for what it was as opposed to what i hoped it would be i'm much the same mindset as you.

The basic inspiration was the Red Mage class from the Final Fantasy games.
And the hat is just a basic mass produced Fedora, if you want give your pony a hat just go for it.
