This site is a wonderful community, but there are scams on dA that you need to be aware of to stay safe! There are accounts called "spam bots" that spam (send out quickly) messages that have dangerous links to viruses or scams that are very dangerous! If you get a comment that looks like this or something similar:
"Make money at home just by browins the Internet! ->link<-"
Do NOT click on the link! Chances are, this is a spam account. It is not run by a human being, it's actually a type of hack designed to comment in everything it can with their scam messages! If you are unsure if the user is a spam bot or not, simply investigate their page. Go to their activity page by clicking "more activity" under their recent activity drop menu. There are screenshots in #ScamBot-Alert-Squad 's gallery of what a spam bot's activity page will look like.
Don't worry!! Nobody can hurt your computer or your account on dA! The only way they can harm you is if you click on those links!
Be safe on dA and do NOT click on links sent to you by anyone you don't know!
We are not a spam bot account, so don't worry! You can always go to our page and comment with questions. There are also a bunch of links to some helpful journals by #ScamBot-Alert-Squad on our page.
