I didn't like Victoria Justice, or the fact that it was so watered-down. There's something slightly perverse about watching Rocky Horror at 7pm on a weeknight - it's a bit weird given the culture of midnight screenings and general outrageousness which it has. Besides that, I mostly enjoyed it. Laverne Cox killed me in ever possible way - I thought was fabulous, though her accent was a bit weird.

it seemed more sexed up then watered down and Victoria's a much better singer then Sue,as for Lavs accent its supposed to be weird cause the  characters weird!

Honestly I think the three areas in which I saw how diluted it was were the orgy scene in the swimming pool in the floor show (in the original, they're all basically dry-humping) the removal of ''mental mindfuck" from Planet schmanet Janet, and getting rid of the nazi jokes about Dr Scott. The original is, in many subtle ways, a lot sexier and more NSFW. I think that Susan Sarandon aesthetically and vocally suits the character more - Janet really is supposed to be incredibly plain and average, which I suppose makes her character development work better. Victoria is just waaay too glam for the role - she was totally miscast. And re: Laverne's accent - it was obvious that she was aiming for upper-class British a la Tim Curry; some parts of it just didn't work. I don't think it's meant to be a reflection of the 'weirdness' of Frank's character.

Not even slightly - I don't have a problem with the remake, I just think that they could have done some things differently and it would have been better. You also can't exactly call me an 'original purist', given that, technically, my favourite cast from is the 2001 broadway show (with lea Delaria as Dr Scott and Eddie, and Joan jett as Columbia)...why exactly do you have a problem with people comparing the remake to the original? They're honestly incredibly similar. Also, the original will always be held incredibly near and dear to my heart as it was completely pivotal to coming to terms with my sexuality and gender identity (between Columbia being the first girl I actively acknowledged having a crush on, and the whole 'don't dream it, be it' sentiment) so in that respect it's always going to be held slightly higher in my mind than the remake - while it was good to watch, and I enjoyed it, it does not and never will hold that same significance - this is also why I may think slightly higher of the original.

only cause alot of people call the remake pointless they say its bad they say Lav was miscast iv even heard the remake called boring!
