i was listening to lady gaga non-stop....so i was inspired to do something disgustingly gothic and macabre. it was entirely freestyle with no references, so i'm proud of the way the skull turned out (it was my first time drawing a skull lol).

I HATE THE EYES, though. it looks too anime...i need to ask my mentor how to draw eyes. the thing is, she says she really likes the way i draw eyes, but i don't, coz they don't look REAL enough.

wow...without references? that's a good skull! impressive...

hmmm...maybe you can try and draw famous people's eyes/faces? then its kind of like fun practice...or draw yourself/family members. i once bought an art book that teaches you to draw different parts (like eyes) and it helped a lot.

though in order to make the eyes more realistic, you'll have to make the face realistic too...(with shadows and curves, etc...) they kind of come in a package. the pupils may need to be more round, and the eye a bit smaller...x) and not as raised up towards the right corner?

reference books...that's a pretty good idea. got any recommendations? i just wanna fix the eyes, but i guess it wouldn't hurt to practice drawing faces as well

very little. my senior project is basically shadowing local artists who draw for a living, so it has to be financially affordable. ^^
