I'm a cheeky, cynical little turd of an artist who loves original characters, role playing, and drawing. As the world's sweetest pessimist I tend to assume everyone is an asshole until such a time as they prove otherwise. Doesn't mean I don't like you or that you're not a beautiful person. Just means I'm a cynical bitch. Ha ha ha!I come from an abusive background - my mother was a piece of work. She was never happy and made damn sure everyone else was miserable too. So when my husband of six years came to me and said he was transgender I didn't give a flying fuck. Because we were happy, really happy. Sure, its been an adjustment but when you're well acquainted with heartbreak, as most abuse victims are, you learn to hold onto whatever happiness you can find, and fight tooth and nail for it!
...so there you have it: I'm a lovable cynic and [accidental] lesbian.

As a fellow artist, I can appreciate the situation - you have a load of great ideas, but then comes the difficult part of actually committing them to paper/tablet. Personally, I find that drumming up the wherewithal to get the piece started is the toughest bit - once the first mark is made, it's pretty much smooth sailing.

Busy as ever and progress is slow, but the first book did okay at the local shows, enough for us to make back our cost and advance a couple of our other projects. We've got two or three smaller games that we're releasing at the SaltCon (assuming we make our deadlines,) and one that's in a competition for game design, which we're hopeful for. So yeah, we've done a lot over the last year, but still haven't made any huge breaks. We'll see how 2014 treats us. 
Good luck with the freelancing, looks like you've been doing a lot of commission stuff on here.

Yeah, commissions hand really taken off. I have a lot of clients and a handful of returning clients too, but still not so successful that its replaced the income of the job I lost. Still, every little bit helps. XD
