ahahahaha I could totally tell an Iple when I saw one. I have a claude, from when they released Claude the Addiction. My poor boy never even got the opportunity to truly be himself. I bought him to be a very specific character but I never got a wig that worked and the clothes they offered didn't suit him at all LOL. So now he's just a mystery doll sitting in a trunk.

My collection is a bit of a mix of everything. Alas I haven't had any BJD friends in a very very long time so its been hard to get the motivation to play with them when its not as part of a community (is that weird?)
Are you making dolls of story characters? Do the characters develop as you get your dolls, or do you do RP with them etc?
A few of my dolls didn't have stories until I got them and a few of them were bought to fill a role. Its surprisingly hard to find a sculpt to fit a certain character for me because when I get them they almost always rebel and decide they want to be someone else.

Dolls can be like that. I have had several dolls that I thought were going to be one certain character only to find out later they were someone else. My Elliot (Iplehouse Omar) started out as planned to be one of Seraphim's sons, but then he just did so well filling the void of my elf I allowed him to become El. Aidan was another. He spent over a year as Mikail before I gave in and accepted that he was not going to be who I was trying to make him. He's happier now as Aidan.
Kristen, Gabriel, Remiel, and Azriel (As well as the soon to arrive Robbiel) are all characters from my own personal writing. Though I have been known to RP with them from time to time. Aidan and his brother Ash just kind of made themselves up because I loved the sculpt so much. Elliot and Mithion were born from RP characters I fell in love with. As for Gavin, her character came to me while on vacation one year and just got stuck in my head, and I have loved the idea of her ever since.
As for the collection, everyone but Kristen is from Iplehouse. I am rather addicted to Iple, if you couldn't tell.
My crew have went through changes and struggles now and then, but they are most all of them come to their own. It helped when I met a BJD friend who can make clothing. That allowed for the resin people to have tee shirts and items that was more them.
