Brilliant paintings! Good idea to use a palette knife, too. How long do they take, on average?

Thanks. I tried brushes for ages, but as soon as I put a knife in my hand, I knew it was the right tool for me. They take on average 16-20 hours but more for the massive ones, obv. But as its such heavy impasto, I have to work for an hour or two on one piece and then wait a week for it to dry enough to put the next layer on top. Very frustrating and means I have to have about 6/7 pieces going on at any one time to keep me busy.

I find anyone who can use a palette knife at all, let alone be as able as this, extremely impressive. That's quite quick though, considering the size! I can understand your frustration though and having to wait. Well done again!

Thanks for your lovely comment. They do have a certain photorealism to them, but up close, they are just a mass of coloured paint streaks. Its amazing what the eye will see and what the brain 'fills in'. Glad you lkie the gallery, there are a few more on the way, just waiting for them to dry!
