I'm currently working on a high res. human model for my character design class, but I'm not sure how to approach the clothes my character will be wearing (most loose, light cloth material and cargo shorts in case it makes much of a difference). I was hoping you could give me a bit of advice or point me in the right direction. By the way look the WWII Soviet Uniform 3D models you submitted

Fashion photography is usually my favorite resource, but the thing that I usually see people struggle with the most is giving weight and depth to 3D models.
Even though some cloth is very thin it'll still have shape when it folds or wrinkles. Many people want to "draw" these wrinkles in using zbrush, but it takes takes to gives these shapes a 3D form or silhouette.
To avoid this issue there are many character artists who use hard plate armor, but the best tip I can give to that effect is make things overlap! Overlapping gives any character or design depth and gives much more opportunity to show off some of your skills.
