# About me
I am a daydreamer.I have a science fiction story that I first started writing on when I was ten years old. Back then I had a pattern of daydreaming as I watched movies and television. I would imagine my fantasy characters interacting with the characters in whatever I was watching, and I would adjust their biographies to fit.
I had a fantasy cowboy with a Confederate back story, a sword and sorcery hero, a Vietnam veteran who became a mercenary in Rhodesia and fought in wars around the planet, as well as a science fiction mercenary.
For the record and as strange as it may seem, as an adolescent I didn't really understand the full racial context of the American Civil War or the Rhodesian Bush War. “The Outlaw Josey Wales” film was a good model for how I imagined the Civil War story, and what I knew about the Rhodesian war, I read in the pages of Soldier of Fortune magazine.
It was in an Omni magazine that I read a wonderful article about fantasy addicts. It described people daydreaming most of the time, building complex fantasy worlds while dealing with life’s demands. I related to it.
For all the things I didn’t learn in school, I damn sure learned how to daydream.
I created a science fiction fantasy that joined Star Trek together with Star Wars, Battlestar Gallactica, Buck Rogers, Alien, Logan’s Run, and whatever other Sci-Fi enchanted me.
“The Making of Star Wars” documentary inspired me deeply. It made me want to make a movie or book.
Inspiration and imagination are gifts as sacred as life itself. I remember wishing I had a machine that would allow me to output my daydream in its pure state from my mind into a movie.
To take a fantasy and fix it in an image or words is to kill it as a truly free and living thing. But by recording it, it gets a new life.
Around this same time my dad was the president of the local chapter of the American Nuclear Society. I have fond memories of helping him and his friend set up and take down an educational pro-nuclear display at public gatherings.
Kind of as a side thing to that, he became interested in making a model nuclear starship to be shown and explained.
We built it on his lathe in the basement. I drew a poster-sized cutaway illustrating pipes carrying hydrogen from the tanks, around the reactor — warming it up — through the core and out.
That nuclear starship, with Dad’s explanation of it, was the thing that shifted my fantasy immersion away from playing with toys to the written word and drafted image.
That wooden model of a nuclear hydrogen ship started the story with mankind’s first journey to another another solar system. Back then Sector Five orbited Alpha Centauri. Sector Five became Sirius Five orbiting Sirius A when I started writing on it as an adult.
After getting married at 21, I recommitted myself to the idea of writing my story and joined it with my love of creating expressive art.
Most of my recent art is digital and intended to illustrate Sirius Five hyperjunglescapes. A good deal of my art is deeply personal and deals with my emotions through neo-expressionism.
Then there is photography, a dear old friend that also goes back to my youth. I have posted some of the best stuff from distant years. I captured the more recent images with my cheap digital Kodak.

Good, I hope you're right.
It's just my perception from not logging on and looking as much.
Guess I was wondering if facebook has drawn folks away.
Seems like most of my family is on facebook.

My response has to be slower than yours.
Yeah "hectic at strange intervals" describes this year.
I just got a better ISP, so perhaps I'll find my motivation for DA again.
Making great strides in getting my life in order.
Hope things are improving for you.
