i guess i got "good" at drawing because i cn't do anything on a computer...hey. maybe if you locked up your computer for a month and HAD to draw by hand you'd suddenly find you can draw after all^^

yeah? thanks! (i'm stalking you now by the way...mind?)
how much did that program cost? and how many years was it until you got that good??

Shadowflitter In reply to shianra [2005-05-10 08:47:28 +0000 UTC]
I don't mind at all. I've been working with poser for about 3 years now, it cost a few hundred dollars US to pick it up plus another couple of grand on the add ons...it's an expensive hobby but it's better than some things I could be doing. I envy you though, I wish I could draw but I can't draw my way out of a paper bag lol

how on earth do you do them?

Shadowflitter In reply to shianra [2005-05-09 13:25:47 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I'm a fellow Aussie. Living in south Perth. I use Poser for my artwork, it's a 3D rendering program where you can pose figures, add clothes, hair, skin textures etc, apply lighting and the like. It's a lot of fun to use though it takes a while to get used to.
I love your sketches, they're gorgeous and so colourful

Well, I have this theory. It goes something along the lines of...we're so isolated out here, isolated by distance, thoughts, ideas and our dislike for the Eastern Staters (I'm a former Eastern Stater, Westerner by "adoption" btw ) that we've become more introspective in a lot of ways and all these thoughts and concepts growing out of our distance enforced solitude only naturally turns to art. Things in Perth are a lot more relaxed and quieter than over east so we've got the time to appreciate the finer things in life if we take the time to do so. Or my theory might just be me blathering on at 11 o'clock at night trying not to explode at the two newest additions to the household of the feline variety for knocking the plug for my computer out of the socket when I hadn't saved my Sims 2 game. Oh well, back to Poser with me
