# About me
Danielle Hicks-Gallagher is a textile artist, in her late twenties, based in the North ofΒ Ireland. She makes symbolic and narrative work with vibrant hand dyed linen and silks using a mix of freestyle machine embroidery and hand embellishment. Her inspirations vary from spirituality, poetry and prose, to nature, memory and world cultureMuch of her current work is inspired by the Charism of Catherine McAuley, Foundress of the Sisters of Mercy (Order of Women Religious), and the vibrant colours and lines of stained glass.
She remained self taught until her middle twenties, but has recently completed a HND in Fine Art, graduating with Dinstinction.

I saw your "Brothers and Sisters" stamp, and I also happened to see a few of your other works. All of it is so beautiful, I just thought you deserved a llama. Take care

Hi Danielle, i'm glad to find such a talented young lady in DA and see thru your art how brave you are by defending your faith but also discovering more about it and showing it here. Plus you come from Ireland which happens to be a country that i'm totally crazy about it, i'm dreaming of going there someday
Keep up the great work, our Lord Jesus bless you always!

Thank you for such a kind message, as well as for the . It really made my day!
Ireland is a lovely country, on the five days a year when the sun shines! (it's lovely all the time, really - but people spend 360 days of the year complaining about the rain!)
Many thanks again, and God Bless you.

You're most welcome. I have just been on another ing spree in your gallery - you photograph Ireland like I see her (albeit I live further North than you and have never been to Dingle/Kerry etc).
Congrats on so many excellent shots!

Thank you and congrats on the exam results!! You should visit Dingle, it is quite a different light... and thank you for the faves it is great I am so glad you like the shots, I try my best to capture the places around here as they look to me. I am not at all concerned with a mechanical so called 'accurate' reproduction I leave that to those with the auto on... Thanks again...

Thank you for taking the time to read "Wisdom is a Gift" and likewise for favorite-ing it.
If you have the desire and the time, would you mind telling me if there was any insight that struck you in particular. Or was there anything confusing or worth critiquing?
Thank you very much again for your time!

Could i just say "because it was well put"?
Paragraphs 5 and 7 particularly struck me. 5 because I know I have experienced that need for "victory" which has been completely hollow, and I think you worded the paragraph well. 7 because of the Gilson quote and how you unpack it.
I also appreciated your line about the acquired taste of the philosophy... This might be why I am not, in truth, a philosopher! (although, I am a Catholic, so...!)
Hope this goes part of the way to illuminating why I favourited the piece.

No, that's great to hear. I always want to hear about what struck people and why. It helps me get a feel for my audience and what to do in the future.
Thank you again and I hope my other stuff will/can be worthwhile for you as well!

You're welcome! I don't often read anything on dA, but your articles do tend to catch my eye, so I must make a point of reading them more often.
